12:96

ﱁThen whenﱂ[that]ﱃarrivedﱄthe bearer of glad tidingsﱅhe cast itﱆoverﱇhis faceﱈthen returned (his) sightﱉﱊthen returned (his) sightﱋHe saidﱌDid notﱍI sayﱎto youﱏindeed, Iﱐ[I] knowﱑfromﱒAllahﱓwhatﱔnotﱕyou knowﱖ(96)

But when the bearer of the good news arrived, he cast the shirt over Jacob’s face, so he regained his sight. Jacob then said ˹to his children˺, “Did I not tell you that I truly know from Allah what you do not know?”

12:97

ﱗThey saidﱘO our fatherﱙAsk forgivenessﱚfor usﱛ(of) our sinsﱜIndeed, weﱝhave beenﱞsinnersﱟ(97)

They begged, “O our father! Pray for the forgiveness of our sins. We have certainly been sinful.”

12:98

ﱠHe saidﱡSoonﱢI will ask forgivenessﱣfor youﱤﱥ(from) my LordﱦIndeed, HeﱧHeﱨ(is) the Oft-Forgivingﱩthe Most Mercifulﱪ(98)

He said, “I will pray to my Lord for your forgiveness.1 He ˹alone˺ is indeed the All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.”

12:99

ﱫThen whenﱬthey enteredﱭuponﱮYusufﱯhe tookﱰto himselfﱱhis parentsﱲand saidﱳEnterﱴEgyptﱵifﱶAllah willsﱷAllah willsﱸsafeﱹ(99)

When they entered Joseph’s presence, he received his parents ˹graciously˺ and said, “Enter Egypt, Allah willing, in security.”

12:100

ﱺAnd he raisedﱻhis parentsﱼuponﱽthe throneﱾand they fell downﱿto himﲀﲁprostrateﲂAnd he saidﲃO my fatherﲄThisﲅ(is the) interpretationﲆ(of) my dreamﲇ(of) beforeﲈ(of) beforeﲉVerilyﲊhas made itﲋmy LordﲌﲍtrueﲎAnd indeedﲏHe was goodﲐto meﲑwhenﲒHe took me outﲓofﲔthe prisonﲕand broughtﲖyouﲗfromﲘthe bedouin lifeﲙafterﲚafterﲛ[that]ﲜhad caused discordﲝthe Shaitaanﲞbetween meﲟand betweenﲠﲡmy brothersﲢIndeedﲣmy Lordﲤ(is) Most Subtleﲥto whatﲦﲧHe willsﲨIndeed, HeﲩHeﲪ(is) the All-Knowerﲫthe All-Wiseﲬ(100)

Then he raised his parents to the throne, and they all fell down in prostration to Joseph,1 who then said, “O my dear father! This is the interpretation of my old dream. My Lord has made it come true. He was truly kind to me when He freed me from prison, and brought you all from the desert after Satan had ignited rivalry between me and my siblings.2 Indeed my Lord is subtle in fulfilling what He wills. Surely He ˹alone˺ is the All-Knowing, All-Wise.”

12:101

ﲭ ﲮMy Lordﲯindeedﲰyou have given meﲱofﲲthe sovereigntyﲳand taught meﲴofﲵthe interpretationﲶﲷof the eventsﲸCreatorﲹ(of) the heavensﲺand the earthﲻYouﲼ(are) my Protectorﲽinﲾthe worldﲿﳀand the HereafterﳁCause me to dieﳂ(as) a Muslimﳃand join meﳄwith the righteousﳅ(101)

“My Lord! You have surely granted me authority and taught me the interpretation of dreams. ˹O˺ Originator of the heavens and the earth! You are my Guardian in this world and the Hereafter. Allow me to die as one who submits1 and join me with the righteous.”

12:102

ﳆThatﳇ(is) fromﳈthe newsﳉ(of) the unseenﳊwhich We revealﳋﳌto youﳍAnd notﳎyou wereﳏwith themﳐwhenﳑthey put togetherﳒtheir planﳓwhile theyﳔ(were) plottingﳕ(102)

That is from the stories of the unseen which We reveal to you ˹O Prophet˺. You were not present when they ˹all˺1 made up their minds, and when they plotted ˹against Joseph˺.

12:103

ﳖAnd notﳗmostﳘ(of) the mankindﳙeven thoughﳚyou desireﳛ(will be) believersﳜ(103)

And most people will not believe—no matter how keen you are—
