17:67

ﱁAnd whenﱂtouches youﱃthe hardshipﱄinﱅthe seaﱆlostﱇ(are) whoﱈyou callﱉexceptﱊﱋHim AloneﱌBut whenﱍHe delivers youﱎtoﱏthe landﱐﱑyou turn awayﱒAnd isﱓmanﱔungratefulﱕ(67)

When you are touched with hardship at sea, you ˹totally˺ forget all ˹the gods˺ you ˹normally˺ invoke, except Him. But when He delivers you ˹safely˺ to shore, you turn away. Humankind is ever ungrateful.

17:68

ﱖDo you then feel secureﱗthat (not)ﱘHe will cause to swallowﱙyouﱚsideﱛ(of) the landﱜorﱝsendﱞagainst youﱟa storm of stonesﱠThenﱡnotﱢyou will findﱣfor youﱤa guardianﱥ(68)

Do you feel secure that He will not cause the land to swallow you up, or unleash upon you a storm of stones? Then you will find none to protect you.

17:69

ﱦOrﱧdo you feel secureﱨthat (not)ﱩHe will send you backﱪinto itﱫanother timeﱬanother timeﱭand sendﱮupon youﱯa hurricaneﱰofﱱthe windﱲand drown youﱳbecauseﱴyou disbelievedﱵThenﱶnotﱷyou will findﱸfor youﱹagainst Usﱺthereinﱻan avengerﱼ(69)

Or do you feel secure that He will not send you back to sea once again, and send upon you a violent storm, drowning you for your denial? Then you will find none to avenge you against Us.

17:70

ﱽ ﱾAnd certainlyﱿWe have honoredﲀ(the) children of Adamﲁ(the) children of Adamﲂand We carried themﲃonﲄthe landﲅand the seaﲆand We have provided themﲇofﲈthe good thingsﲉand We preferred themﲊoverﲋmanyﲌof those whomﲍWe have createdﲎ(with) preferenceﲏ(70)

Indeed, We have dignified the children of Adam, carried them on land and sea, granted them good and lawful provisions, and privileged them far above many of Our creatures.

17:71

ﲐ(The) DayﲑWe will callﲒallﲓhuman beingsﲔﲕwith their recordﲖthen whoeverﲗis givenﲘhis recordﲙin his right handﲚthen thoseﲛwill readﲜtheir recordsﲝand notﲞthey will be wrongedﲟ(even as much as) a hair on a date seedﲠ(71)

˹Beware of˺ the Day We will summon every people with their leader.1 So whoever will be given their record in their right hand will read it ˹happily˺ and will not be wronged ˹even by the width of˺ the thread of a date stone.

17:72

ﲡAnd whoeverﲢisﲣinﲤthis (world)ﲥblindﲦthen heﲧinﲨthe Hereafterﲩ(will be) blindﲪand more astrayﲫ(from the) pathﲬ(72)

But whoever is blind ˹to the truth˺ in this ˹world˺ will be blind in the Hereafter, and ˹even˺ far more astray from the ˹Right˺ Way.

17:73

ﲭAnd indeedﲮthey were about (to)ﲯtempt you awayﲰfromﲱthat whichﲲWe revealedﲳto youﲴthat you inventﲵabout Usﲶﲷother (than) itﲸAnd thenﲹsurely they would take youﲺ(as) a friendﲻ(73)

They definitely ˹thought they˺ were about to lure you away from what We have revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺, hoping that you would attribute something else to Us falsely—and then they would have certainly taken you as a close friend.1

17:74

ﲼAnd if notﲽ[that]ﲾWe (had) strengthened youﲿcertainlyﳀyou almostﳁ(would) have inclinedﳂto themﳃ(in) somethingﳄa littleﳅ(74)

Had We not made you steadfast, you probably would have inclined to them a little,

17:75

ﳆThenﳇWe (would) have made you tasteﳈdoubleﳉ(in) the lifeﳊand doubleﳋ(after) the deathﳌThenﳍnotﳎyou (would) have foundﳏfor youﳐagainst Usﳑany helperﳒ(75)

and then We truly would have made you taste double ˹punishment˺ both in this life and after death, and you would have found no helper against Us.
