18:35
ﱁAnd he enteredﱂhis gardenﱃwhile heﱄ(was) unjustﱅto himselfﱆHe saidﱇNotﱈI thinkﱉthatﱊwill perishﱋthisﱌeverﱍ(35)
And he entered his property, while wronging his soul, saying, “I do not think this will ever perish,

ﱎAnd notﱏI thinkﱐthe Hourﱑwill occurﱒAnd ifﱓI am brought backﱔtoﱕmy LordﱖI will surely findﱗbetterﱘthan thisﱙ(as) a returnﱚ(36)
nor do I think the Hour will ˹ever˺ come. And if in fact I am returned to my Lord, I will definitely get a far better outcome than ˹all˺ this.”
18:37
ﱛSaidﱜto himﱝhis companionﱞwhile heﱟwas talking to himﱠDo you disbelieveﱡin One Whoﱢcreated youﱣfromﱤdustﱥthenﱦfromﱧa minute quantity of semenﱨthenﱩfashioned youﱪ(into) a manﱫ(37)
His ˹believing˺ companion replied, while conversing with him, “Do you disbelieve in the One Who created you from dust,1 then ˹developed you˺ from a sperm-drop, then formed you into a man?
18:38
ﱬBut as for meﱭHeﱮ(is) Allahﱯmy Lordﱰand notﱱI associateﱲwith my Lordﱳanyoneﱴ(38)
But as for me: He is Allah, my Lord, and I will never associate anyone with my Lord ˹in worship˺.
18:39
ﱵAnd why (did you) notﱶwhenﱷyou enteredﱸyour gardenﱹsayﱺWhatﱻwillsﱼAllahﱽ(there is) noﱾpowerﱿexceptﲀﲁwith AllahﲂIfﲃyou see meﲄ(me)ﲅlesserﲆthan youﲇ(in) wealthﲈand childrenﲉ(39)
If only you had said, upon entering your property, ‘This is what Allah has willed! There is no power except with Allah!’ Even though you see me inferior to you in wealth and offspring,
18:40
ﲊIt may beﲋthat my Lordﲌthat my Lordﲍwill give meﲎbetterﲏthanﲐyour gardenﲑand will sendﲒupon itﲓa calamityﲔfromﲕthe skyﲖthen it will becomeﲗgroundﲘslipperyﲙ(40)
perhaps my Lord will grant me ˹something˺ better than your garden, and send down upon your garden a thunderbolt from the sky, turning it into a barren waste.
18:41
ﲚOrﲛwill becomeﲜits waterﲝsunkenﲞso neverﲟyou will be ableﲠto find itﲡto find itﲢ(41)
Or its water may sink ˹into the earth˺, and then you will never be able to seek it out.”
18:42
ﲣAnd were surroundedﲤhis fruitsﲥso he beganﲦtwistingﲧhis handsﲨoverﲩwhatﲪhe (had) spentﲫon itﲬwhile it (had)ﲭcollapsedﲮonﲯits trellisesﲰand he saidﲱOh! I wishﲲI had not associatedﲳI had not associatedﲴwith my Lordﲵanyoneﲶ(42)
And so all his produce was ˹totally˺ ruined, so he started to wring his hands for all he had spent on it, while it had collapsed on its trellises. He cried, “Alas! I wish I had never associated anyone with my Lord ˹in worship˺!”
18:43
ﲷAnd notﲸwasﲹfor himﲺa groupﲻ(to) help himﲼother thanﲽother thanﲾAllahﲿand notﳀwasﳁ(he) supportedﳂ(43)
And he had no manpower to help him against Allah, nor could he ˹even˺ help himself.
18:44
ﳃThereﳄthe protectionﳅ(is) from Allahﳆﳇthe TrueﳈHeﳉ(is the) bestﳊ(to) rewardﳋand (the) bestﳌ(for) the final endﳍ(44)
At this time, support comes ˹only˺ from Allah—the True ˹Lord˺. He is best in reward and best in outcome.

ﳎAnd presentﳏto themﳐthe exampleﳑ(of) the lifeﳒ(of) the worldﳓlike waterﳔwhich We send downﳕfromﳖthe skyﳗthen minglesﳘwith itﳙ(the) vegetationﳚ(of) the earthﳛthen becomesﳜdry stalksﳝit (is) scatteredﳞﳟ(by) the windsﳠAnd AllahﳡAnd Allahﳢoverﳣeveryﳤthingﳥ(is) All Ableﳦ(45)
And give them a parable of this worldly life. ˹It is˺ like the plants of the earth, thriving when sustained by the rain We send down from the sky. Then they ˹soon˺ turn into chaff scattered by the wind. And Allah is fully capable of ˹doing˺ all things.
