18:98

He saidThis(is) a mercyfromﱅﱆmy LordBut whencomes(the) Promise(of) my LordHe will make itﱌﱍlevelAnd is(the) Promise(of) my Lordtrue(98)

He declared, “This is a mercy from my Lord. But when the promise of my Lord comes to pass, He will level it to the ground. And my Lord’s promise is ever true.”

18:99

ﱓ ﱔAnd We (will) leavesome of them(on) that Dayto surgeoverﱙﱚothersand (will be) blowninthe trumpetthen We (will) gather themall together(99)

On that Day, We will let them1 surge ˹like waves˺ over one another. Later, the Trumpet will be blown,2 and We will gather all ˹people˺ together.

18:100

And We (will) presentHell(on) that Dayto the disbelievers(on) display(100)

On that Day We will display Hell clearly for the disbelievers,

18:101

Thosehad beentheir eyeswithina coverfromMy remembranceand werenotable(to) hear(101)

those who turned a blind eye to My Reminder1 and could not stand listening ˹to it˺.

18:102

Do then thinkthose whodisbelievethatthey (can) takeMy servantsbesides Mebesides Meﱻﱼ(as) protectorsIndeed, We We have preparedﱿHellfor the disbelievers(as) a lodging(102)

Do the disbelievers think they can ˹simply˺ take My servants1 as lords instead of Me? We have surely prepared Hell as an accommodation for the disbelievers.

18:103

SayShallWe inform youof the greatest losers(as to their) deeds(103)

Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “Shall we inform you of who will be the biggest losers of deeds?

18:104

Those is losttheir effortinthe life(of) the worldwhile theythinkthat they(were) acquiring good(in) work(104)

˹They are˺ those whose efforts are in vain in this worldly life, while they think they are doing good!”

18:105

Those(are) the ones whodisbelievein the Verses(of) their Lordand the meeting (with) HimSo (are) vaintheir deedsso notWe will assignfor them(on) the Day(of) the Resurrectionany weight(105)

It is they who reject the signs of their Lord and their meeting with Him, rendering their deeds void, so We will not give their deeds any weight on Judgment Day.

18:106

That(is) their recompense Hell becausethey disbelievedand tookMy Versesand My Messengers(in) ridicule(106)

That is their reward: Hell, for their disbelief and mockery of My signs and messengers.

18:107

Indeedthose whobelievedand didrighteous deedsfor them will befor them will beGardens(of) the Paradise(as) a lodging(107)

Indeed, those who believe and do good will have the Gardens of Paradise1 as an accommodation,

18:108

Abiding foreverin itNotthey will desirefrom itany transferﲿ(108)

where they will be forever, never desiring anywhere else.

18:109

SayIfwerethe seainkfor (the) Words(of) my Lordsurely (would be) exhaustedthe seabefore[that](were) exhausted(the) Words(of) my Lordeven ifWe brought(the) like (of) it(as) a supplement(109)

Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “If the ocean were ink for ˹writing˺ the Words of my Lord, it would certainly run out before the Words of my Lord were finished, even if We refilled it with its equal.”

18:110

SayOnlyI(am) a manlike youHas been revealedto methatyour God(is) GodﳝﳞOneSo whoeverishoping(for the) meeting(with) his Lordlet him dodeedsrighteousand notassociatein (the) worship(of) his Lordanyone(110)

Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “I am only a man like you, ˹but˺ it has been revealed to me that your God is only One God. So whoever hopes for the meeting with their Lord, let them do good deeds and associate none in the worship of their Lord.”
