ﱁNotﱂwill take you to taskﱃAllahﱄfor (what is) unintentionalﱅinﱆyour oathsﱇ[and] butﱈHe takes you to taskﱉfor whatﱊ(have) earnedﱋﱌyour heartsﱍAnd Allahﱎ(is) Oft-ForgivingﱏMost Forbearingﱐ(225)
Allah will not hold you accountable for unintentional oaths, but for what you intended in your hearts. And Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Forbearing.
2:226
ﱑFor those whoﱒswear (off)ﱓfromﱔtheir wivesﱕ(is a) waiting (of)ﱖfourﱗﱘmonthsﱙthen ifﱚthey return ﱛthen indeedﱜAllahﱝ(is) Oft-ForgivingﱞMost Mercifulﱟ(226)
Those who swear not to have intercourse with their wives must wait for four months.1 If they change their mind, then Allah is certainly All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
But if they settle on divorce, then Allah is indeed All-Hearing, All-Knowing.
2:228
ﱨAnd the women who are divorcedﱩshall waitﱪconcerning themselvesﱫ(for) threeﱬﱭmonthly periodsﱮAnd (it is) notﱯlawfulﱰfor themﱱthatﱲthey concealﱳwhatﱴ(has been) createdﱵ(by) Allahﱶinﱷtheir wombsﱸifﱹtheyﱺbelieveﱻin Allahﱼand the Dayﱽﱾ[the] LastﱿAnd their husbandsﲀ(have) better rightﲁto take them backﲂinﲃthat (period)ﲄifﲅthey wishﲆﲇ(for) reconciliationﲈAnd for themﲉ(is the) likeﲊ(of) that whichﲋ(is) on themﲌﲍin a reasonable mannerﲎand for the menﲏover themﲐﲑ(is) a degreeﲒAnd Allahﲓ(is) All-MightyﲔAll-Wiseﲕ(228)
Divorced women must wait three monthly cycles ˹before they can re-marry˺. It is not lawful for them to conceal what Allah has created in their wombs,1 if they ˹truly˺ believe in Allah and the Last Day. And their husbands reserve the right to take them back within that period if they desire reconciliation. Women have rights similar to those of men equitably, although men have a degree ˹of responsibility˺ above them. And Allah is Almighty, All-Wise.
2:229
ﲖThe divorceﲗﲘ(is) twiceﲙThen to retainﲚin a reasonable mannerﲛorﲜto release (her)ﲝﲞwith kindnessﲟAnd (it is) notﲠlawfulﲡfor youﲢthatﲣyou take (back)ﲤwhateverﲥyou have given themﲦanythingﲧexceptﲨifﲩboth fearﲪthat notﲫthey both (can) keepﲬ(the) limitsﲭﲮ(of) AllahﲯBut ifﲰyou fearﲱthat notﲲthey both (can) keepﲳ(the) limitsﲴ(of) Allahﲵthen (there is) noﲶsinﲷon both of themﲸin whatﲹshe ransomsﲺﲻconcerning itﲼTheseﲽ(are the) limitsﲾ(of) Allahﲿso (do) notﳀﳁtransgress themﳂAnd whoeverﳃtransgressesﳄ(the) limitsﳅ(of) Allahﳆthen those ﳇtheyﳈ(are) the wrongdoersﳉ(229)
Divorce may be retracted twice, then the husband must retain ˹his wife˺ with honour or separate ˹from her˺ with grace.1 It is not lawful for husbands to take back anything of the dowry given to their wives, unless the couple fears not being able to keep within the limits of Allah.2 So if you fear they will not be able to keep within the limits of Allah, there is no blame if the wife compensates the husband to obtain divorce.3 These are the limits set by Allah, so do not transgress them. And whoever transgresses the limits of Allah, they are the ˹true˺ wrongdoers.
2:230
ﳊThen ifﳋhe divorces herﳌthen (she is) notﳍlawfulﳎfor himﳏfromﳐafter (that)ﳑuntilﳒshe marriesﳓa spouseﳔﳕother than himﳖThen ifﳗhe divorces herﳘthen noﳙsinﳚon themﳛifﳜthey return to each otherﳝifﳞthey believeﳟthatﳠthey (will be able to) keepﳡ(the) limitsﳢﳣ(of) AllahﳤAnd theseﳥ(are the) limitsﳦ(of) AllahﳧHe makes them clearﳨto a peopleﳩwho knowﳪ(230)
So if a husband divorces his wife ˹three times˺, then it is not lawful for him to remarry her until after she has married another man and then is divorced. Then it is permissible for them to reunite, as long as they feel they are able to maintain the limits of Allah. These are the limits set by Allah, which He makes clear for people of knowledge.
