38:43
ﱁAnd We grantedﱂ[to] himﱃhis familyﱄand a like of themﱅwith themﱆa Mercyﱇfrom Usﱈand a Reminderﱉfor those of understandingﱊfor those of understandingﱋ(43)
And We gave him back his family, twice as many, as a mercy from Us and a lesson for people of reason.
38:44
ﱌAnd takeﱍin your handﱎa bunchﱏand strikeﱐwith itﱑand (do) notﱒﱓbreak (your) oathﱔIndeed, Weﱕ[We] found himﱖﱗpatientﱘan excellentﱙslaveﱚIndeed, heﱛrepeatedly turnedﱜ(44)
˹And We said to him,˺ “Take in your hand a bundle of grass, and strike ˹your wife˺ with it, and do not break your oath.”1 We truly found him patient. What an excellent servant ˹he was˺! Indeed, he ˹constantly˺ turned ˹to Allah˺.
38:45
ﱝAnd rememberﱞOur slavesﱟIbrahimﱠand Isaacﱡand Yaqubﱢpossessorsﱣ(of) strengthﱤand visionﱥ(45)
And remember Our servants: Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—the men of strength and insight.
38:46
ﱦIndeed, Weﱧ[We] chose themﱨfor an exclusive (quality)ﱩremembranceﱪ(of) the Homeﱫ(46)
We truly chose them for the honour of proclaiming the Hereafter.
38:47
ﱬAnd indeed, theyﱭto Usﱮ(are) fromﱯthe chosen onesﱰthe bestﱱ(47)
And in Our sight they are truly among the chosen and the finest.
38:48
ﱲAnd rememberﱳIshmaelﱴand Elishaﱵand Dhul-kiflﱶﱷand Dhul-kiflﱸand allﱹ(are) fromﱺthe bestﱻ(48)
Also remember Ishmael, Elisha, and Ⱬul-Kifl.1 All are among the best.
38:49
ﱼThisﱽﱾ(is) a ReminderﱿAnd indeedﲀfor the righteousﲁsurely, is a goodﲂplace of returnﲃ(49)
This is ˹all˺ a reminder. And the righteous will certainly have an honourable destination:
38:50
ﲄGardensﲅ(of) Eternityﲆ(will be) openedﲇfor themﲈthe gatesﲉ(50)
the Gardens of Eternity, whose gates will be open for them.
38:51
ﲊRecliningﲋthereinﲌthey will callﲍthereinﲎfor fruitﲏmanyﲐand drinkﲑ(51)
There they will recline, calling for abundant fruit and drink.
38:52
ﲒ ﲓAnd with themﲔ(will be) companions of modest gazeﲕ(will be) companions of modest gazeﲖwell-matchedﲗ(52)
And with them will be maidens of modest gaze and equal age.
38:53
ﲘThisﲙ(is) whatﲚyou are promisedﲛfor (the) Dayﲜ(of) Accountﲝ(53)
This is what you are promised for the Day of Reckoning.
38:54
ﲞIndeedﲟthisﲠ(is) surely Our provisionﲡnotﲢfor itﲣanyﲤdepletionﲥ(54)
This is indeed Our provision that will never end.
38:55
ﲦﲧThis (is so)ﲨAnd indeedﲩfor the transgressorsﲪsurely (is) an evilﲫplace of returnﲬ(55)
That is that. And the transgressors will certainly have the worst destination:
38:56
ﲭHellﲮthey will burn thereinﲯand wretched (is)ﲰthe resting placeﲱ(56)
Hell, where they will burn. What an evil place to rest!
38:57
ﲲThis (is so)ﲳThen let them taste itﲴboiling fluidﲵand purulenceﲶ(57)
Let them then taste this: boiling water and ˹oozing˺ pus,
38:58
ﲷAnd otherﲸofﲹits typeﲺ(of various) kindsﲻ(58)
and other torments of the same sort!
38:59
ﲼThisﲽ(is) a companyﲾburstingﲿ(in) with youﳀNoﳁwelcomeﳂﳃfor themﳄIndeed, theyﳅ(will) burnﳆ(in) the Fireﳇ(59)
˹The misleaders will say to one another,˺ “Here is a crowd ˹of followers˺ being thrown in with us. They are not welcome, ˹for˺ they ˹too˺ will burn in the Fire.”1
38:60
ﳈThey sayﳉNayﳊYou ﳋnoﳌwelcomeﳍﳎfor youﳏYouﳐbrought thisﳑﳒupon usﳓSo wretched (is)ﳔthe settlementﳕ(60)
The followers will respond, “No! You are not welcome! You brought this upon us. What an evil place for settlement!”
38:61
ﳖThey will sayﳗOur Lordﳘwhoeverﳙbroughtﳚupon usﳛthisﳜincrease for himﳝa punishmentﳞdoubleﳟinﳠthe Fireﳡ(61)
Adding, “Our Lord! Whoever brought this upon us, double their punishment in the Fire.”
