39:41

ﱁIndeed WeﱂWe revealedﱃto youﱄthe Bookﱅfor [the] mankindﱆﱇin truthﱈSo whoeverﱉaccepts guidanceﱊﱋthen (it is) for his soulﱌand whoeverﱍgoes astrayﱎthen onlyﱏhe straysﱐﱑagainst his (soul)ﱒAnd notﱓyouﱔ(are) over themﱕa managerﱖ(41)

Surely We have revealed to you the Book ˹O Prophet˺ with the truth for humanity. So whoever chooses to be guided, it is for their own good. And whoever chooses to stray, it is only to their own loss. You are not a keeper over them.

39:42

ﱗAllahﱘtakesﱙthe soulsﱚ(at the) timeﱛ(of) their deathﱜand the one whoﱝ(does) notﱞdieﱟinﱠﱡtheir sleepﱢThen He keepsﱣthe one whomﱤHe has decreedﱥfor themﱦthe deathﱧand sendsﱨthe othersﱩforﱪa termﱫﱬspecifiedﱭIndeedﱮinﱯthatﱰsurely (are) signsﱱfor a peopleﱲwho ponderﱳ(42)

˹It is˺ Allah ˹Who˺ calls back the souls ˹of people˺ upon their death as well as ˹the souls˺ of the living during their sleep. Then He keeps those for whom He has ordained death, and releases the others until ˹their˺ appointed time. Surely in this are signs for people who reflect.

39:43

ﱴOrﱵhave they takenﱶbesidesﱷbesidesﱸAllahﱹﱺintercessorsﱻSayﱼEven thoughﱽthey wereﱾnotﱿpossessingﲀanythingﲁand notﲂthey understandﲃ(43)

Or have they taken others besides Allah as intercessors? Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “˹Would they do so,˺ even though those ˹idols˺ have neither authority nor intelligence?”

39:44

ﲄSayﲅTo Allah (belongs)ﲆthe intercessionﲇﲈallﲉFor Himﲊ(is the) dominionﲋ(of) the heavensﲌﲍand the earthﲎThenﲏto Himﲐyou will be returnedﲑ(44)

Say, “All intercession belongs to Allah ˹alone˺. To Him belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. Then to Him you will ˹all˺ be returned.”

39:45

ﲒAnd whenﲓAllah is mentionedﲔAllah is mentionedﲕAloneﲖshrink with aversionﲗ(the) heartsﲘ(of) those whoﲙ(do) notﲚbelieveﲛﲜin the Hereafterﲝand whenﲞare mentionedﲟthoseﲠbesides Himﲡbesides HimﲢbeholdﲣTheyﲤrejoiceﲥ(45)

Yet when Allah alone is mentioned, the hearts of those who disbelieve in the Hereafter are filled with disgust. But as soon as those ˹gods˺ other than Him are mentioned, they are filled with joy.

39:46

ﲦSayﲧO AllahﲨCreatorﲩ(of) the heavensﲪand the earthﲫKnowerﲬ(of) the unseenﲭand the witnessedﲮYouﲯwill judgeﲰbetweenﲱYour slavesﲲinﲳwhatﲴthey used toﲵthereinﲶdifferﲷ(46)

Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “O Allah—Originator of the heavens and the earth, Knower of the seen and unseen! You will judge between Your servants regarding their differences.”

39:47

ﲸAnd ifﲹAnd ifﲺthose whoﲻdid wrongﲼ(had) whateverﲽ(is) inﲾthe earthﲿallﳀand (the) like of itﳁwith itﳂthey would ransomﳃwith itﳄfromﳅ(the) evilﳆ(of) the punishmentﳇ(on the) Dayﳈﳉ(of) the ResurrectionﳊAnd (will) appearﳋto themﳌfromﳍAllahﳎwhatﳏnotﳐthey hadﳑtaken into accountﳒ(47)

Even if the wrongdoers were to possess everything in the world twice over, they would certainly offer it to ransom themselves from the horrible punishment on Judgment Day, for they will see from Allah what they had never expected.
