52:15

Then is this magicThen is this magicoryou(do) notsee(15)

Is this magic, or do you not see?

52:16

Burn in itthen be patientor(do) notbe patient(it is) sameﱎﱏfor youOnlyyou are being recompensed(for) whatyou used todo(16)

Burn in it! It is the same whether you endure ˹it˺ patiently or not.1 You are only rewarded for what you used to do.”

52:17

Indeedthe righteous(will be) inGardensand pleasure(17)

Indeed, the righteous will be in Gardens and bliss,

52:18

Enjoyingin whathas given themtheir Lordand protected themtheir Lord(from the) punishment(of) Hellfire(18)

enjoying whatever their Lord will have granted them. And their Lord will have protected them from the torment of the Hellfire.

52:19

Eatand drink(in) satisfactionfor whatyou used todo(19)

˹They will be told,˺ “Eat and drink happily for what you used to do.”

52:20

Recliningonthronesﱯﱰlined upand We will marry themto fair ones(with) large eyes(20)

They will be reclining on thrones, ˹neatly˺ lined up ˹facing each other˺. And We will pair them to maidens with gorgeous eyes.

52:21

And those whobelievedand followed themtheir offspringin faithWe will joinwith themtheir offspringand notWe will deprive themﱿoftheir deeds(in) anyﲂﲃthingEverypersonfor whathe earned(is) pledged(21)

As for those who believe and whose descendants follow them in faith, We will elevate their descendants to their rank, never discounting anything ˹of the reward˺ of their deeds. Every person will reap only what they sowed.1

52:22

And We will provide themwith fruitand meatfrom whatthey desire(22)

And We will ˹continually˺ provide them with whatever fruit or meat they desire.

52:23

They will pass to one anotherthereina cupnoill speechthereinand nosin(23)

They will pass around to each other a drink ˹of pure wine,˺ which leads to no idle talk or sinfulness.

52:24

ﲙ ﲚAnd will circulateamong themboysfor themas if they (were)pearlswell-protected(24)

And they will be waited on by their youthful servants like spotless pearls.

52:25

And will approachsome of themtoothersinquiring(25)

They will turn to one another inquisitively.1

52:26

They will sayIndeed, we[we] werebeforeamongour familiesfearful(26)

They will say, “Before ˹this reward˺ we used to be in awe ˹of Allah˺ in the midst of our people.

52:27

But Allah conferred favorBut Allah conferred favorupon usand protected us(from the) punishment(of) the Scorching Fire(27)

So Allah has graced us and protected us from the torment of ˹Hell’s˺ scorching heat.

52:28

Indeed, we[we] used tobeforebeforeﲻﲼcall HimIndeed, He[He]ﲿ(is) the Most Kindthe Most Merciful(28)

Indeed, we used to call upon Him ˹alone˺ before. He is truly the Most Kind, Most Merciful.”

52:29

Therefore remindfor notyou(are) by (the) grace(of) your Lorda soothsayerand nota madman(29)

So ˹continue to˺ remind ˹all, O  Prophet˺. For you, by the grace of your Lord, are not a fortune-teller or a madman.

52:30

Or(do) they sayA poetwe waitfor hima misfortune of timea misfortune of time(30)

Or do they say, “˹He is˺ a poet, for whom we ˹eagerly˺ await an ill-fate!”?

52:31

SayWaitfor indeed I amwith youamongthose who wait(31)

Say, “Keep waiting! I too am waiting with you.”
