79:17
ﱁGoﱂtoﱃFiraunﱄIndeed, heﱅ(has) transgressedﱆ(17)
˹commanding,˺ “Go to Pharaoh, for he has truly transgressed ˹all bounds˺.
79:18
ﱇAnd sayﱈWouldﱉ[for] youﱊ[to]ﱋ[that]ﱌpurify yourselfﱍ(18)
And say, ‘Would you ˹be willing to˺ purify yourself,
79:19
ﱎAnd I will guide youﱏtoﱐyour Lordﱑso you would fearﱒ(19)
and let me guide you to your Lord so that you will be in awe ˹of Him˺?’”
79:20
ﱓThen he showed himﱔthe signﱕthe greatﱖ(20)
Then Moses showed him the great sign,1
79:21
ﱗBut he deniedﱘand disobeyedﱙ(21)
but he denied and disobeyed ˹Allah˺,
79:22
ﱚThenﱛhe turned his backﱜstrivingﱝ(22)
then turned his back, striving ˹against the truth˺.
79:23
ﱞAnd he gatheredﱟand called outﱠ(23)
Then he summoned ˹his people˺ and called out,
79:24
ﱡThen he saidﱢI amﱣyour Lordﱤthe Most Highﱥ(24)
saying, “I am your lord, the most high!”
79:25
ﱦSo seized himﱧAllahﱨ(with) an exemplary punishmentﱩ(for) the lastﱪand the firstﱫ(25)
So Allah overtook him, making him an example in this life and the next.
79:26
ﱬIndeedﱭinﱮthatﱯsurely (is) a lessonﱰfor whoeverﱱfearsﱲ(26)
Surely in this is a lesson for whoever stands in awe of ˹Allah˺.
79:27
ﱳAre youﱴa more difficultﱵcreationﱶorﱷﱸthe heavenﱹHe constructed itﱺ(27)
Which is harder to create: you or the sky?1 He built it,
79:28
ﱻHe raisedﱼits ceilingﱽand proportioned itﱾ(28)
raising it high and forming it flawlessly.
79:29
ﱿAnd He darkenedﲀits nightﲁand brought outﲂits brightnessﲃ(29)
He dimmed its night, and brought forth its daylight.
79:30
ﲄAnd the earthﲅafterﲆthatﲇHe spread itﲈ(30)
As for the earth, He spread it out as well,1
79:31
ﲉHe brought forthﲊfrom itﲋits waterﲌand its pastureﲍ(31)
bringing forth its water and pastures
79:32
ﲎAnd the mountainsﲏHe made them firmﲐ(32)
and setting the mountains firmly ˹upon it˺—
79:33
ﲑ(As) a provisionﲒfor youﲓand for your cattleﲔ(33)
all as ˹a means of˺ sustenance for you and your animals.
79:34
ﲕBut whenﲖcomesﲗthe Overwhelming Calamityﲘthe greatﲙ(34)
But, when the Supreme Disaster1 comes to pass—
79:35
ﲚ(The) Dayﲛwill rememberﲜmanﲝwhatﲞhe strove (for)ﲟ(35)
the Day every person will remember all ˹their˺ striving,
79:36
ﲠAnd will be made manifestﲡthe Hellfireﲢto (him) whoﲣseesﲤ(36)
and the Hellfire will be displayed for all to see—
79:37
ﲥThen as forﲦ(him) whoﲧtransgressedﲨ(37)
then as for those who transgressed
79:38
ﲩAnd preferredﲪthe lifeﲫ(of) the worldﲬ(38)
and preferred the ˹fleeting˺ life of this world,
79:39
ﲭThen indeedﲮthe Hellfireﲯitﲰ(is) the refugeﲱ(39)
the Hellfire will certainly be ˹their˺ home.
79:40
ﲲBut as forﲳ(him) whoﲴfearedﲵstandingﲶ(before) his Lordﲷand restrainedﲸhis soulﲹfromﲺthe vain desiresﲻ(40)
And as for those who were in awe of standing before their Lord and restrained themselves from ˹evil˺ desires,
79:41
ﲼThen indeedﲽParadise ﲾit (is)ﲿthe refugeﳀ(41)
Paradise will certainly be ˹their˺ home.
79:42
ﳁThey ask youﳂaboutﳃthe Hourﳄwhenﳅ(is) its arrivalﳆ(42)
They ask you ˹O Prophet˺ regarding the Hour, “When will it be?”
79:43
ﳇIn whatﳈ(are) youﳉ[of]ﳊ(to) mention itﳋ(43)
But it is not for you to tell its time.1
79:44
ﳌToﳍyour Lordﳎ(is) its finalityﳏ(44)
That knowledge rests with your Lord ˹alone˺.
79:45
ﳐOnlyﳑyouﳒ(are) a warnerﳓ(for him) whoﳔfears itﳕ(45)
Your duty is only to warn whoever is in awe of it.
79:46
ﳖAs though theyﳗ(the) Dayﳘthey see itﳙnotﳚthey had remainedﳛexceptﳜan eveningﳝorﳞa morning thereofﳟ(46)
On the Day they see it, it will be as if they had stayed ˹in the world˺ no more than one evening or its morning.
