As-Saffat
Those who set the Ranks
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
In the Name of Allah—the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful.
ﱁBy those linedﱂ(in) rowsﱃ
By those ˹angels˺ lined up in ranks,
- Reflections
ﱄAnd those who driveﱅstronglyﱆ
and those who diligently drive ˹the clouds˺,
- Reflections
ﱇAnd those who reciteﱈ(the) Messageﱉ
and those who recite the Reminder!
- Reflections
ﱊIndeedﱋyour Lordﱌ(is) surely Oneﱍ
Surely your God is One!
- Reflections
ﱎLordﱏ(of) the heavensﱐand the earthﱑand whatﱒ(is) between both of themﱓand Lordﱔ(of) each point of sunriseﱕ
˹He is˺ the Lord of the heavens and the earth and everything in between, and the Lord of all points of sunrise.

ﱖIndeed, Weﱗ[We] adornedﱘthe skyﱙ[the world]ﱚwith an adornmentﱛ(of) the starsﱜ
Indeed, We have adorned the lowest heaven with the stars for decoration
- Reflections
ﱝAnd (to) guardﱞagainstﱟeveryﱠdevilﱡrebelliousﱢ
and ˹for˺ protection from every rebellious devil.
- Reflections
ﱣNotﱤthey may listenﱥtoﱦthe assemblyﱧ[the] exaltedﱨare peltedﱩfromﱪeveryﱫsideﱬ
They cannot listen to the highest assembly ˹of angels˺ for they are pelted from every side,
- Reflections
ﱭﱮRepelledﱯand for themﱰ(is) a punishmentﱱperpetualﱲ
˹fiercely˺ driven away. And they will suffer an everlasting torment.

ﱳExceptﱴ(him) whoﱵsnatchesﱶ(by) theftﱷbut follows himﱸa burning flameﱹpiercingﱺ
But whoever manages to stealthily eavesdrop is ˹instantly˺ pursued by a piercing flare.

ﱻThen ask themﱼAre theyﱽa strongerﱾcreationﱿorﲀ(those) whomﲁﲂWe have createdﲃIndeed, Weﲄcreated themﲅfromﲆa clayﲇstickyﲈ
So ask them ˹O Prophet˺, which is harder to create: them or other marvels of Our creation? Indeed, We created them from a sticky clay.

ﲉNayﲊyou wonderﲋwhile they mockﲌ
In fact, you are astonished ˹by their denial˺, while they ridicule ˹you˺.
- Reflections
ﲍAnd whenﲎthey are remindedﲏnotﲐthey receive admonitionﲑ
When they are reminded, they are never mindful.
- Reflections
ﲒAnd whenﲓthey seeﲔa Signﲕthey mockﲖ
And whenever they see a sign, they make fun of it,
- Reflections
ﲗAnd they sayﲘNotﲙ(is) thisﲚexceptﲛa magicﲜclearﲝ
saying, “This is nothing but pure magic.

ﲞIs it whenﲟwe are deadﲠand have becomeﲡdustﲢand bonesﲣshall we thenﲤbe certainly resurrectedﲥ
When we are dead and reduced to dust and bones, will we really be resurrected?
- Reflections
ﲦOr our fathersﲧformerﲨ
And our forefathers as well?”
- Reflections
ﲩSayﲪYesﲫand youﲬ(will be) humiliatedﲭ
Say, “Yes! And you will be fully humbled.”

ﲮThen onlyﲯitﲰ(will be) a cryﲱsingleﲲthen, beholdﲳTheyﲴwill seeﲵ
It will only take one Blast, then at once they will see ˹it all˺.

ﲶAnd they will sayﲷO woe to usﲸThisﲹ(is the) Dayﲺ(of) the Recompenseﲻ
They will cry, “Oh, woe to us! This is the Day of Judgment!”

ﲼThisﲽ(is the) Dayﲾ(of) Judgmentﲿwhichﳀyou used toﳁ[of it]ﳂdenyﳃ
˹They will be told,˺ “This is the Day of ˹Final˺ Decision which you used to deny.”

ﳄ ﳅGatherﳆthose whoﳇwrongedﳈand their kindsﳉand whatﳊthey used (to)ﳋworshipﳌ
˹Allah will say to the angels,˺ “Gather ˹all˺ the wrongdoers along with their peers, and whatever they used to worship
- Reflections
ﳍBesidesﳎBesidesﳏAllahﳐthen lead themﳑtoﳒ(the) Pathﳓ(of) the Hellfireﳔ
instead of Allah, then lead them ˹all˺ to the path of Hell.
- Reflections
ﳕﳖAnd stop themﳗindeed, theyﳘ(are) to be questionedﳙ
And detain them, for they must be questioned.”
