ﱁAnd that Heﱂcreatedﱃthe pairsﱄthe maleﱅand the femaleﱆ
And He created the pairs—males and females—
- Reflections
ﱇFromﱈa semen-dropﱉwhenﱊit is emittedﱋ
from a sperm-drop when it is emitted.
- Reflections
ﱌAnd thatﱍupon Himﱎ(is) the bringing forthﱏanotherﱐ
And it is upon Him to bring about re-creation.
- Reflections
ﱑAnd that Heﱒ[He]ﱓenrichesﱔand sufficesﱕ
And He is the One Who enriches and impoverishes.

ﱖAnd that Heﱗ[He]ﱘ(is the) Lordﱙ(of) Siriusﱚ
And He alone is the Lord of Sirius.

ﱛAnd that HeﱜdestroyedﱝAadﱞthe firstﱟ
And He destroyed the first ˹people of˺ ’Ȃd,
- Reflections
ﱠAnd Thamudﱡso notﱢHe sparedﱣ
and ˹then˺ Thamûd, sparing no one.

ﱤAnd (the) peopleﱥ(of) NuhﱦbeforeﱧﱨbeforeﱩIndeed, theyﱪthey wereﱫthey wereﱬmore unjustﱭand more rebelliousﱮ
And before ˹that He destroyed˺ the people of Noah, who were truly far worse in wrongdoing and transgression.

ﱯAnd the overturned citiesﱰHe overthrewﱱ
And ˹it was˺ He ˹Who˺ turned the cities ˹of Sodom and Gomorrah˺ upside down.

ﱲSo covered themﱳwhatﱴcoveredﱵ
How overwhelming was what covered ˹them˺!
- Reflections
ﱶThen which (of)ﱷthe Favorsﱸ(of) your Lordﱹwill you doubtﱺ
Now, which of your Lord’s favours will you dispute?

ﱻThisﱼ(is) a warnerﱽfromﱾthe warnersﱿthe formerﲀ
This ˹Prophet˺ is a warner like earlier ones.
- Reflections
ﲁHas approachedﲂthe Approaching Dayﲃ
The approaching ˹Hour˺ has drawn near.
- Reflections
ﲄNot isﲅfor itﲆbesidesﲇbesidesﲈAllahﲉany removerﲊ
None but Allah can disclose it.

ﲋThen ofﲌthisﲍstatementﲎyou wonderﲏ
Do you find this revelation astonishing,
- Reflections
ﲐAnd you laughﲑand (do) notﲒweepﲓ
laughing ˹at it˺ and not weeping ˹in awe˺,
- Reflections
ﲔWhile youﲕamuse (yourselves)ﲖ
while persisting in heedlessness?
- Reflections
ﲗﲘSo prostrateﲙﲚto Allahﲛﲜand worship (Him)ﲝ
Instead, prostrate to Allah and worship ˹Him alone˺!

Al-Qamar
The Moon
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
In the Name of Allah—the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful.
ﲞHas come nearﲟthe Hourﲠand has splitﲡthe moonﲢ
The Hour has drawn near and the moon was split ˹in two˺.

ﲣAnd ifﲤthey seeﲥa Signﲦthey turn awayﲧand sayﲨMagicﲩcontinuingﲪ
Yet, whenever they see a sign, they turn away, saying, “Same old magic!”

ﲫAnd they deniedﲬand followedﲭﲮtheir desiresﲯbut (for) everyﲰmatterﲱ(will be a) settlementﲲ
They rejected ˹the truth˺ and followed their own desires—and every matter will be settled—
- Reflections
ﲳAnd certainlyﲴhas come to themﲵofﲶthe informationﲷwhereinﲸwhereinﲹ(is) deterrenceﲺ
even though the stories ˹of destroyed nations˺ that have already come to them are a sufficient deterrent.

ﲻWisdomﲼﲽperfectﲾbut notﲿwill availﳀthe warningsﳁ
˹This Quran is˺ profound ˹in˺ wisdom, but warnings are of no benefit ˹to them˺.
- Reflections
ﳂSo turn awayﳃﳄfrom themﳅ(The) Dayﳆwill callﳇthe callerﳈtoﳉa thingﳊterribleﳋ
So turn away from them ˹O Prophet˺. ˹And wait for˺ the Day ˹when˺ the caller will summon ˹them˺ for something horrifying.
