ﱁBut whenﱂthey (will) see itﱃapproachingﱄ(will be) distressedﱅ(the) facesﱆ(of) those whoﱇdisbelievedﱈand it will be saidﱉThisﱊ(is) that whichﱋyou used toﱌfor itﱍcallﱎ
Then when they see the torment drawing near, the faces of the disbelievers will become gloomy, and it will be said ˹to them˺, “This is what you claimed would never come.”

ﱏSayﱐHave you seenﱑifﱒdestroys meﱓAllahﱔand whoeverﱕ(is) with meﱖorﱗhas mercy upon usﱘthen whoﱙ(can) protectﱚthe disbelieversﱛfromﱜa punishmentﱝpainfulﱞ
Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “Consider this: whether Allah causes me and those with me to die or shows us mercy, who will save the disbelievers from a painful punishment?”

ﱟSayﱠHeﱡ(is) the Most Graciousﱢwe believeﱣin Himﱤand upon Himﱥﱦwe put (our) trustﱧSo you will knowﱨwhoﱩ(is) itﱪ(that is) inﱫerrorﱬclearﱭ
Say, “He is the Most Compassionate—in Him ˹alone˺ we believe, and in Him ˹alone˺ we trust. You will soon know who is clearly astray.”

ﱮSayﱯHave you seenﱰifﱱbecomesﱲyour waterﱳsunkenﱴthen whoﱵcould bring youﱶwaterﱷflowingﱸ
Say, “Consider this: if your water were to sink ˹into the earth˺, then who ˹else˺ could bring you flowing water?”

The Pen
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
In the Name of Allah—the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful.
ﱹﱺNunﱻBy the penﱼand whatﱽthey writeﱾ
Nũn. By the pen and what everyone writes!

ﱿNotﲀyou (are)ﲁby (the) Graceﲂ(of) your Lordﲃa madmanﲄ
By the grace of your Lord, you ˹O Prophet˺ are not insane.

ﲅAnd indeedﲆfor youﲇsurely (is) a rewardﲈwithoutﲉendﲊ
You will certainly have a never-ending reward.

ﲋAnd indeed, youﲌsurely (are)ﲍ(of) a moral characterﲎgreatﲏ
And you are truly ˹a man˺ of outstanding character.

ﲐSo you will seeﲑand they will seeﲒ
Soon you and the pagans will see,

ﲓWhich of youﲔ(is) the afflicted oneﲕ
which of you is mad.

ﲖIndeedﲗyour LordﲘHeﲙ(is) most knowingﲚof (he) whoﲛhas strayedﲜfromﲝHis wayﲞand Heﲟ(is) most knowingﲠof the guided onesﲡ
Surely your Lord ˹alone˺ knows best who has strayed from His Way and who is ˹rightly˺ guided.

ﲢSo (do) notﲣobeyﲤthe deniersﲥ
So do not give in to the deniers.

ﲦThey wishﲧthatﲨyou should compromiseﲩso they would compromiseﲪ
They wish you would compromise so they would yield ˹to you˺.

ﲫAnd (do) notﲬobeyﲭeveryﲮhabitual swearerﲯworthlessﲰ
And do not obey the despicable, vain oath-taker,

ﲱDefamerﲲgoing aboutﲳwith malicious gossipﲴ
slanderer, gossip-monger,
- Reflections
ﲵA preventerﲶof (the) goodﲷtransgressorﲸsinfulﲹ
withholder of good, transgressor, evildoer,
- Reflections
ﲺCruelﲻafterﲼ(all) thatﲽutterly uselessﲾ
brute, and—on top of all that—an illegitimate child.

ﲿBecauseﳀ(he) isﳁa possessorﳂ(of) wealthﳃand childrenﳄ
Now, ˹simply˺ because he has been blessed with ˹abundant˺ wealth and children,

ﳅWhenﳆare recitedﳇto himﳈOur Versesﳉhe saysﳊStoriesﳋ(of) the former (people)ﳌ
whenever Our revelations are recited to him, he says, “Ancient fables!”

ﳍWe will brand himﳎonﳏthe snoutﳐ
We will soon mark his snout.
