ﱁAnd notﱂany foodﱃexceptﱄfromﱅ(the) discharge of woundsﱆ
nor any food except ˹oozing˺ pus,

ﱇNotﱈwill eat itﱉexceptﱊthe sinnersﱋ
which none will eat except the evildoers.”

ﱌBut nayﱍI swearﱎby whatﱏyou seeﱐ
Now, I do swear by whatever you see,

ﱑAnd whatﱒnotﱓyou seeﱔ
and whatever you cannot see!

ﱕIndeed, it (is)ﱖsurely (the) Wordﱗ(of) a Messengerﱘnobleﱙ
Indeed, this ˹Quran˺ is the recitation of a noble Messenger.

ﱚAnd notﱛitﱜ(is the) wordﱝﱞ(of) a poetﱟlittleﱠ(is) whatﱡyou believeﱢ
It is not the prose of a poet ˹as you claim˺, ˹yet˺ you hardly have any faith.

ﱣAnd notﱤ(it is the) wordﱥﱦ(of) a soothsayerﱧlittleﱨ(is) whatﱩyou take heedﱪ
Nor is it the mumbling of a fortune-teller, ˹yet˺ you are hardly mindful.

ﱫ(It is) a revelationﱬfromﱭ(the) Lordﱮ(of) the worldsﱯ
˹It is˺ a revelation from the Lord of all worlds.

ﱰAnd ifﱱhe (had) fabricatedﱲagainst Usﱳsomeﱴsayingsﱵ
Had the Messenger made up something in Our Name,
- Reflections
ﱶCertainly We (would) have seizedﱷhimﱸby the right handﱹ
We would have certainly seized him by his right hand,
- Reflections
ﱺThenﱻcertainly We (would) have cut offﱼfrom himﱽthe aortaﱾ
then severed his aorta,
- Reflections
ﱿAnd notﲀfrom youﲁanyﲂoneﲃ[from him]ﲄ(who could) prevent (it)ﲅ
and none of you could have shielded him ˹from Us˺!

ﲆAnd indeed, itﲇ(is) surely a reminderﲈfor the Allah-fearingﲉ
Indeed, this ˹Quran˺ is a reminder to those mindful ˹of Allah˺.

ﲊAnd indeed, Weﲋsurely knowﲌthatﲍamong youﲎ(are) deniersﲏ
And We certainly know that some of you will persist in denial,
- Reflections
ﲐAnd indeed, itﲑ(is) surely a regretﲒuponﲓthe disbelieversﲔ
and it will surely be a source of regret for the disbelievers.
- Reflections
ﲕAnd indeed, it (is)ﲖsurely (the) truthﲗ(of) certaintyﲘ
And indeed, this ˹Quran˺ is the absolute truth.

ﲙSo glorifyﲚ(the) nameﲛ(of) your Lordﲜthe Most Greatﲝ
So glorify the Name of your Lord, the Greatest.

The Ascending Stairways
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
In the Name of Allah—the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful.
ﲞAskedﲟa questionerﲠabout a punishmentﲡbound to happenﲢ
A challenger has demanded a punishment bound to come

ﲣTo the disbelieversﲤnotﲥof itﲦany preventerﲧ
for the disbelievers—to be averted by none—
- Reflections
ﲨFromﲩAllahﲪOwnerﲫ(of) the ways of ascentﲬ
from Allah, Lord of pathways of ˹heavenly˺ ascent,
- Reflections
ﲭAscendﲮthe Angelsﲯand the Spiritﲰto Himﲱinﲲa Dayﲳ[is]ﲴits measureﲵ(is) fiftyﲶthousandﲷyear(s)ﲸ
˹through which˺ the angels and the ˹holy˺ spirit will ascend to Him on a Day fifty thousand years in length.

ﲹSo be patientﲺa patienceﲻgoodﲼ
So endure ˹this denial, O Prophet,˺ with beautiful patience.

ﲽIndeed, theyﲾsee itﲿ(as) far offﳀ
They truly see this ˹Day˺ as impossible,
- Reflections
ﳁBut We see itﳂnearﳃ
but We see it as inevitable.

ﳄ(The) Day ﳅwill beﳆthe skyﳇlike molten copperﳈ
On that Day the sky will be like molten brass
- Reflections
ﳉAnd will beﳊthe mountainsﳋlike woolﳌ
and the mountains like ˹tufts of˺ wool.
- Reflections
ﳍAnd notﳎwill askﳏa friendﳐ(about) a friendﳑ
And no close friend will ask ˹about˺ their friends,
