78:31

Indeedfor the righteous(is) success

Indeed, the righteous will have salvation—

78:32

Gardensand grapevines

Gardens, vineyards,

78:33

And splendid companionswell-matched

and full-bosomed maidens of equal age,

78:34

And a cupfull

and full cups ˹of pure wine˺,

78:35

Notthey will hearthereinany vain talkand notany falsehood

never to hear any idle talk or lying therein—

78:36

(As) a rewardfromyour Lorda gift(according to) account

a ˹fitting˺ reward as a generous gift from your Lord,

78:37

Lord(of) the heavensand the earthand whatever(is) between both of themﱠﱡthe Most Graciousnotthey have powerfrom Him(to) address

the Lord of the heavens and the earth and everything in between, the Most Compassionate. No one will dare speak to Him

78:38

(The) Daywill standthe Spiritand the Angelsﱫﱬ(in) rowsnotthey will speakexcept(one) who permits[for] himthe Most Graciousand he (will) say(what is) correct

on the Day the ˹holy˺ spirit and the angels will stand in ranks. None will talk, except those granted permission by the Most Compassionate and whose words are true.

78:39

That(is) the Dayﱹﱺthe TrueSo whoeverwillslet him taketowardsﱿhis Lorda return

That Day is the ˹ultimate˺ truth. So let whoever wills take the path leading back to their Lord.

78:40

Indeed We[We] have warned you(of) a punishmentnear(the) Daywill seethe manwhathave sent forthhis handsand will saythe disbelieverO I wishI weredust

Indeed, We have warned you of an imminent punishment—the Day every person will see ˹the consequences of˺ what their hands have done, and the disbelievers will cry, “I wish I were dust.”

79.Surah

An-Nazi'at

Those who drag forth

46 āyāt · Meccan

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

In the Name of Allah—the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful.

79:1

By those who extractviolently

By those ˹angels˺ stripping out ˹evil souls˺ harshly,

79:2

And those who draw outgently

and those pulling out ˹good souls˺ gently,

79:3

And those who glideswimming

and those gliding ˹through heavens˺ swiftly,

79:4

And those who race each other(in) a race

and those taking the lead vigorously,

79:5

And those who arrange(the) matter

and those conducting affairs ˹obediently˺!

79:6

(The) Daywill quakethe quaking one

˹Consider˺ the Day ˹when˺ the quaking Blast will come to pass,

79:7

Follows itthe subsequent

followed by a second Blast.

79:8

Heartsthat Daywill palpitate

˹The deniers’˺ hearts on that Day will be trembling ˹in horror˺,

79:9

Their eyeshumbled

with their eyes downcast.

79:10

They sayWill weindeed be returnedtothe former state

˹But now˺ they ask ˹mockingly˺, “Will we really be restored to our former state,

79:11

What! Whenwe arebonesdecayed

even after we have been reduced to decayed bones?”

79:12

They sayThisthen(would be) a returnlosingﲿ

Adding, “Then such a return would be a ˹total˺ loss ˹for us˺!”

79:13

Then onlyit(will be) a shoutsingle

But indeed, it will take only one ˹mighty˺ Blast,

79:14

And beholdThey(will be) awakened

and at once they will be above ground.

79:15

Has(there) come to you(the) story(of) Musa

Has the story of Moses reached you ˹O Prophet˺?

79:16

Whencalled himhis Lordin the valleythe sacred(of) Tuwa

His Lord called him in the sacred valley of Ṭuwa,
