ﱁSo todayﱂthose whoﱃbelieved ﱄatﱅthe disbelieversﱆthey will laughﱇ
But on that Day the believers will be laughing at the disbelievers,
- Reflections
ﱈOnﱉthe thronesﱊobservingﱋ
as they sit on ˹canopied˺ couches, looking on.
- Reflections
ﱌHave (not)ﱍbeen rewardedﱎthe disbelieversﱏ(for) whatﱐthey used toﱑdoﱒ
˹The believers will be asked,˺ “Have the disbelievers ˹not˺ been paid back for what they used to do?”

The Sundering
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
In the Name of Allah—the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful.
ﱓWhenﱔthe skyﱕis split asunderﱖ
When the sky bursts open,
- Reflections
ﱗAnd has listenedﱘto its Lordﱙand was obligatedﱚ
obeying its Lord as it must,
- Reflections
ﱛAnd whenﱜthe earthﱝis spreadﱞ
and when the earth is flattened out,
- Reflections
ﱟAnd has cast outﱠwhatﱡ(is) in itﱢand becomes emptyﱣ
and ejects ˹all˺ its contents and becomes empty,
- Reflections
ﱤAnd has listenedﱥto its Lordﱦand was obligatedﱧ
obeying its Lord as it must, ˹surely you will all be judged˺.
- Reflections
ﱨOﱩmankindﱪIndeed, youﱫ(are) laboringﱬtoﱭyour Lordﱮ(with) exertionﱯand you (will) meet Himﱰ
O humanity! Indeed, you are labouring restlessly towards your Lord, and will ˹eventually˺ meet the consequences.
- Reflections
ﱱThen as forﱲ(him) whoﱳis givenﱴhis recordﱵin his right (hand)ﱶ
As for those who are given their record in their right hand,
- Reflections
ﱷThen soonﱸhis account will be takenﱹan accountﱺeasyﱻ
they will have an easy reckoning,
- Reflections
ﱼAnd he will returnﱽtoﱾhis peopleﱿhappilyﲀ
and will return to their people joyfully.
- Reflections
ﲁBut as forﲂ(him) whoﲃis givenﲄhis recordﲅbehindﲆhis backﲇ
And as for those who are given their record ˹in their left hand˺ from behind their backs,
- Reflections
ﲈThen soonﲉhe will callﲊ(for) destructionﲋ
they will cry for ˹instant˺ destruction,
- Reflections
ﲌAnd he will burnﲍ(in) a Blazeﲎ
and will burn in the blazing Fire.
- Reflections
ﲏIndeed, heﲐhad beenﲑamongﲒhis peopleﲓhappyﲔ
For they used to be prideful among their people,
- Reflections
ﲕIndeed, heﲖ(had) thoughtﲗthatﲘneverﲙhe would returnﲚ
thinking they would never return ˹to Allah˺.
- Reflections
ﲛﲜYesﲝIndeedﲞhis Lordﲟwasﲠof himﲡAll-Seerﲢ
Yes ˹they would˺! Surely their Lord has always been All-Seeing of them.
- Reflections
ﲣBut nayﲤI swearﲥby the twilight glowﲦ
So, I do swear by the twilight!
- Reflections
ﲧAnd the nightﲨand whatﲩit envelopsﲪ
And by the night and whatever it envelops!
- Reflections
ﲫAnd the moonﲬwhenﲭit becomes fullﲮ
And by the moon when it waxes full!
- Reflections
ﲯYou will surely embarkﲰ(to) stageﲱfromﲲstageﲳ
You will certainly pass from one state to another.
- Reflections
ﲴSo whatﲵ(is) for themﲶnotﲷthey believeﲸ
So what is the matter with them that they do not believe,
- Reflections
ﲹAnd whenﲺis recitedﲻto themﲼthe Quranﲽnotﲾﲿﳀthey prostrateﳁ
and when the Quran is recited to them, they do not bow down ˹in submission˺?
- Reflections
ﳂNayﳃThose whoﳄdisbelievedﳅdenyﳆ
In fact, the disbelievers persist in denial.
- Reflections
ﳇAnd Allahﳈ(is) most knowingﳉof whatﳊthey keep within themselvesﳋ
But Allah knows best whatever they hide.
- Reflections
ﳌso give them tidingsﳍof a punishmentﳎpainfulﳏ
So give them good news of a painful punishment.
- Reflections
