At-Tariq
The Nightcommer
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
In the Name of Allah—the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful.
ﱁBy the skyﱂand the night comerﱃ
By the heaven and the nightly star!
- Reflections
ﱄAnd whatﱅcan make you knowﱆwhatﱇthe night comer (is)ﱈ
And what will make you realize what the nightly star is?
- Reflections
ﱉ(It is) the starﱊthe piercingﱋ
˹It is˺ the star of piercing brightness.
- Reflections
ﱌNotﱍ(is) everyﱎsoulﱏbutﱐover itﱑ(is) a protectorﱒ
There is no soul without a vigilant angel ˹recording everything˺.
- Reflections
ﱓSo let seeﱔmanﱕfrom whatﱖhe is createdﱗ
Let people then consider what they were created from!
- Reflections
ﱘHe is createdﱙfromﱚa waterﱛejectedﱜ
˹They were˺ created from a spurting fluid,
- Reflections
ﱝComing forthﱞfromﱟbetweenﱠthe backboneﱡand the ribsﱢ
stemming from between the backbone and the ribcage.
- Reflections
ﱣIndeed, Heﱤtoﱥreturn himﱦ(is) Ableﱧ
Surely He is fully capable of bringing them back ˹to life˺
- Reflections
ﱨ(The) Dayﱩwill be testedﱪthe secretsﱫ
on the Day all secrets will be disclosed.
- Reflections
ﱬThen notﱭ(is) for himﱮanyﱯpowerﱰand notﱱany helperﱲ
Then one will have neither power nor ˹any˺ helper.

ﱳBy the skyﱴwhichﱵreturnsﱶ
By the sky with its recurring cycles,
- Reflections
ﱷAnd the earthﱸwhichﱹcracks openﱺ
and the earth with its sprouting plants!
- Reflections
ﱻIndeed, itﱼ(is) surely a Wordﱽdecisiveﱾ
Surely this ˹Quran˺ is a decisive word,
- Reflections
ﱿAnd notﲀitﲁ(is) for amusementﲂ
and is not to be taken lightly.
- Reflections
ﲃIndeed, theyﲄare plottingﲅa plotﲆ
They are certainly devising ˹evil˺ plans,
- Reflections
ﲇBut I am planningﲈa planﲉ
but I too am planning.
- Reflections
ﲊSo give respiteﲋ(to) the disbelieversﲌGive respite to them ﲍlittleﲎ
So bear with the disbelievers ˹O Prophet˺. Let them be for ˹just˺ a little while.

Al-A'la
The Most High
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
In the Name of Allah—the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful.
ﲏGlorifyﲐ(the) nameﲑ(of) your Lordﲒthe Most Highﲓ
Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High,
- Reflections
ﲔThe One Whoﲕcreatedﲖthen proportionedﲗ
Who created and ˹perfectly˺ fashioned ˹all˺,
- Reflections
ﲘAnd the One Whoﲙmeasuredﲚthen guidedﲛ
and Who ordained precisely and inspired accordingly,
- Reflections
ﲜAnd the One Whoﲝbrings forthﲞthe pastureﲟ
and Who brings forth ˹green˺ pasture,
- Reflections
ﲠAnd then makes itﲡstubbleﲢdarkﲣ
then reduces it to withered chaff.
- Reflections
ﲤWe will make you reciteﲥso notﲦyou will forgetﲧ
We will have you recite ˹the Quran, O Prophet,˺ so you will not forget ˹any of it˺,
- Reflections
ﲨExceptﲩwhatﲪwillsﲫﲬAllahﲭIndeed, Heﲮknowsﲯthe manifestﲰand whatﲱis hiddenﲲ
unless Allah wills otherwise. He surely knows what is open and what is hidden.
- Reflections
ﲳAnd We will ease youﲴto the easeﲵ
We will facilitate for you the Way of Ease.
- Reflections
ﲶSo remindﲷifﲸbenefitsﲹthe reminderﲺ
So ˹always˺ remind ˹with the Quran˺—˹even˺ if the reminder is beneficial ˹only to some˺.
- Reflections
ﲻHe will pay heed ﲼ(one) whoﲽfears (Allah)ﲾ
Those in awe ˹of Allah˺ will be mindful ˹of it˺.
