ﱁAnd will avoid itﱂthe wretched oneﱃ
But it will be shunned by the most wretched,

ﱄThe one whoﱅwill burnﱆ(in) the Fireﱇ[the] greatﱈ
who will burn in the greatest Fire,

ﱉThenﱊnotﱋhe will dieﱌthereinﱍand notﱎwill liveﱏ
where they will not ˹be able to˺ live or die.

ﱐCertainlyﱑhas succeededﱒ(one) whoﱓpurifies (himself)ﱔ
Successful indeed are those who purify themselves,

ﱕAnd remembersﱖ(the) nameﱗ(of) his Lordﱘand praysﱙ
remember the Name of their Lord, and pray.

ﱚNayﱛYou preferﱜthe lifeﱝ(of) the worldﱞ
But you ˹deniers only˺ prefer the life of this world,
- Reflections
ﱟWhile the Hereafterﱠ(is) betterﱡand everlastingﱢ
even though the Hereafter is far better and more lasting.
- Reflections
ﱣIndeedﱤthisﱥsurely (is) inﱦthe Scripturesﱧ[the] formerﱨ
This is certainly ˹mentioned˺ in the earlier Scriptures—

ﱩ(The) Scripturesﱪ(of) Ibrahimﱫand Musaﱬ
the Scriptures of Abraham and Moses.

Al-Ghashiyah
The Overwhelming
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
In the Name of Allah—the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful.
ﱭHasﱮ(there) come to youﱯ(the) newsﱰ(of) the Overwhelmingﱱ
Has the news of the Overwhelming Event reached you ˹O Prophet˺?
- Reflections
ﱲFacesﱳthat Dayﱴ(will be) humbledﱵ
On that Day ˹some˺ faces will be downcast,
- Reflections
ﱶLaboringﱷexhaustedﱸ
˹totally˺ overburdened, exhausted,
- Reflections
ﱹThey will burnﱺ(in) a Fireﱻintensely hotﱼ
burning in a scorching Fire,
- Reflections
ﱽThey will be given to drinkﱾfromﱿa springﲀboilingﲁ
left to drink from a scalding spring.
- Reflections
ﲂNot isﲃfor themﲄfoodﲅexceptﲆfromﲇa bitter thorny plantﲈ
They will have no food except a foul, thorny shrub,
- Reflections
ﲉNotﲊit nourishesﲋand notﲌit availsﲍfromﲎhungerﲏ
neither nourishing nor satisfying hunger.

ﲐFacesﲑthat Dayﲒ(will be) joyfulﲓ
On that Day ˹other˺ faces will be glowing with bliss,

ﲔWith their effortﲕsatisfiedﲖ
˹fully˺ pleased with their striving,
- Reflections
ﲗInﲘa gardenﲙelevatedﲚ
in an elevated Garden,
- Reflections
ﲛNotﲜthey will hearﲝthereinﲞvain talkﲟ
where no idle talk will be heard.
- Reflections
ﲠThereinﲡ(will be) a springﲢflowingﲣ
In it will be a running spring,
- Reflections
ﲤThereinﲥ(will be) thronesﲦraised highﲧ
along with thrones raised high,
- Reflections
ﲨAnd cupsﲩput in placeﲪ
and cups set at hand,
- Reflections
ﲫAnd cushionsﲬlined upﲭ
and ˹fine˺ cushions lined up,
- Reflections
ﲮAnd carpetsﲯspread outﲰ
and ˹splendid˺ carpets spread out.
- Reflections
ﲱThen do notﲲthey lookﲳtowardsﲴthe camelsﲵhowﲶthey are createdﲷ
Do they not ever reflect on camels—how they were ˹masterfully˺ created;
- Reflections
ﲸAnd towardsﲹthe skyﲺhowﲻit is raisedﲼ
and the sky—how it was raised ˹high˺;
- Reflections
ﲽAnd towardsﲾthe mountainsﲿhowﳀthey are fixedﳁ
and the mountains—how they were firmly set up;
- Reflections
ﳂAnd towardsﳃthe earthﳄhowﳅit is spread outﳆ
and the earth—how it was levelled out?
- Reflections
ﳇSo remindﳈonlyﳉyouﳊ(are) a reminderﳋ
So, ˹continue to˺ remind ˹all, O Prophet˺, for your duty is only to remind.

ﳌYou are notﳍover themﳎa controllerﳏ
You are not ˹there˺ to compel them ˹to believe˺.
