ﱁBut those whoﱂdisbelieveﱃin Our Versesﱄtheyﱅ(are the) companionsﱆ(of) the left (hand)ﱇ
As for those who deny Our signs, they are the people of the left.

ﱈOver themﱉ(will be the) Fireﱊclosed inﱋ
The Fire will be sealed over them.

Ash-Shams
The Sun
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
In the Name of Allah—the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful.
ﱌBy the sunﱍand its brightnessﱎ
By the sun and its brightness,
- Reflections
ﱏAnd the moonﱐwhenﱑit follows itﱒ
and the moon as it follows it,
- Reflections
ﱓAnd the dayﱔwhenﱕit displays itﱖ
and the day as it unveils it,
- Reflections
ﱗAnd the nightﱘwhenﱙit covers itﱚ
and the night as it conceals it!
- Reflections
ﱛAnd the heavenﱜand (He) Whoﱝconstructed itﱞ
And by heaven and ˹the One˺ Who built it,
- Reflections
ﱟAnd the earthﱠand by (He) Whoﱡspread itﱢ
and the earth and ˹the One˺ Who spread it!
- Reflections
ﱣAnd (the) soulﱤand (He) Whoﱥproportioned itﱦ
And by the soul and ˹the One˺ Who fashioned it,
- Reflections
ﱧAnd He inspired itﱨ(to distinguish) its wickednessﱩand its righteousnessﱪ
then with ˹the knowledge of˺ right and wrong inspired it!

ﱫIndeedﱬhe succeedsﱭwhoﱮpurifies itﱯ
Successful indeed is the one who purifies their soul,
- Reflections
ﱰAnd indeedﱱhe failsﱲwhoﱳburies itﱴ
and doomed is the one who corrupts it!

ﱵDeniedﱶThamudﱷby their transgressionﱸ
Thamûd rejected ˹the truth˺ out of arrogance,
- Reflections
ﱹWhenﱺ(was) sent forthﱻ(the) most wicked of themﱼ
when the most wicked of them was roused ˹to kill the she-camel˺.
- Reflections
ﱽBut saidﱾto themﱿ(the) Messengerﲀ(of) Allahﲁ(It is the) she-camelﲂ(of) Allahﲃand her drinkﲄ
But the messenger of Allah warned them, “˹Do not disturb˺ Allah’s camel and her ˹turn to˺ drink!”

ﲅBut they denied himﲆand they hamstrung herﲇSo destroyedﲈthemﲉtheir Lordﲊfor their sinﲋand leveled themﲌ
Still they defied him and slaughtered her. So their Lord crushed them for their crime, levelling all to the ground.

ﲍAnd notﲎHe fearsﲏits consequencesﲐ
He has no fear of consequences.

Al-Layl
The Night
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
In the Name of Allah—the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful.
ﲑBy the nightﲒwhenﲓit coversﲔ
By the night when it covers,
- Reflections
ﲕAnd the dayﲖwhenﲗit shines in brightnessﲘ
and the day when it shines!
- Reflections
ﲙAnd He Whoﲚcreatedﲛthe maleﲜand the femaleﲝ
And by ˹the One˺ Who created male and female!
- Reflections
ﲞIndeedﲟyour effortsﲠ(are) surely diverseﲡ
Surely the ends you strive for are diverse.
- Reflections
ﲢThen as forﲣ(him) whoﲤgivesﲥand fearsﲦ
As for the one who is charitable, mindful ˹of Allah˺,
- Reflections
ﲧAnd believesﲨin the bestﲩ
and ˹firmly˺ believes in the finest reward,
- Reflections
ﲪThen We will ease himﲫtowards [the] easeﲬ
We will facilitate for them the Way of Ease.
- Reflections
ﲭBut as forﲮ(him) whoﲯwithholdsﲰand considers himself free from needﲱ
And as for the one who is stingy, indifferent ˹to Allah˺,
- Reflections
ﲲAnd deniesﲳthe bestﲴ
and ˹staunchly˺ denies the finest reward,
