4:135

ﱁ ﱂO youﱃwhoﱄbelieve[d]ﱅBeﱆcustodiansﱇof justiceﱈ(as) witnessesﱉto Allahﱊeven ifﱋ(it is) againstﱌyourselvesﱍorﱎthe parentsﱏﱐand the relativesﱑifﱒhe beﱓrichﱔorﱕpoorﱖfor Allahﱗ(is) nearerﱘﱙto both of themﱚSo (do) notﱛfollowﱜthe desireﱝlestﱞﱟyou deviateﱠAnd ifﱡyou distortﱢorﱣrefrainﱤthen indeedﱥAllahﱦisﱧof whatﱨyou doﱩAll-Awareﱪ(135)

O believers! Stand firm for justice as witnesses for Allah even if it is against yourselves, your parents, or close relatives. Be they rich or poor, Allah is best to ensure their interests. So do not let your desires cause you to deviate ˹from justice˺. If you distort the testimony or refuse to give it, then ˹know that˺ Allah is certainly All-Aware of what you do.

4:136

ﱫO youﱬwhoﱭbelieve[d]ﱮBelieveﱯin Allahﱰand His Messengerﱱand the BookﱲwhichﱳHe revealedﱴuponﱵHis Messengerﱶand the BookﱷwhichﱸHe revealedﱹfromﱺﱻbeforeﱼAnd whoeverﱽdisbelievesﱾin Allahﱿand His Angelsﲀand His Booksﲁand His Messengersﲂand the Dayﲃthe Lastﲄthen surelyﲅhe (has) lost (the) wayﲆstrayingﲇfar awayﲈ(136)

O believers! Have faith in Allah, His Messenger, the Book He has revealed to His Messenger, and the Scriptures He revealed before. Indeed, whoever denies Allah, His angels, His Books, His messengers, and the Last Day has clearly gone far astray.

4:137

ﲉIndeedﲊthose whoﲋbelievedﲌthenﲍdisbelievedﲎthenﲏ(again) believedﲐthenﲑdisbelievedﲒthenﲓincreasedﲔ(in) disbelief ﲕnotﲖwillﲗAllahﲘforgiveﲙ[for] themﲚand notﲛwill guide themﲜ(to) a (right) wayﲝ(137)

Indeed, those who believed then disbelieved, then believed and again disbelieved—˹only˺ increasing in disbelief—Allah will neither forgive them nor guide them to the ˹Right˺ Way.

4:138

ﲞGive tidingsﲟ(to) the hypocritesﲠthatﲡfor themﲢ(is) a punishmentﲣpainful ﲤ(138)

Give good news of a painful punishment to hypocrites,

4:139

ﲥThose whoﲦtakeﲧthe disbelieversﲨ(as) alliesﲩ(from)ﲪinstead ofﲫﲬthe believersﲭDo they seekﲮwith themﲯthe honorﲰBut indeedﲱthe honorﲲ(is) for Allahﲳallﲴ(139)

who choose disbelievers as allies instead of the believers. Do they seek honour and power through that company? Surely all honour and power belongs to Allah.

4:140

ﲵAnd surelyﲶHe has revealedﲷto youﲸinﲹthe Bookﲺthatﲻwhenﲼyou hearﲽ(the) Versesﲾ(of) Allahﲿbeing rejectedﳀ[it]ﳁand ridiculedﳂat [it]ﳃthen do notﳄsitﳅwith themﳆuntilﳇthey engageﳈinﳉa conversationﳊother than thatﳋIndeed, youﳌthenﳍﳎ(would be) like themﳏIndeedﳐAllahﳑwill gatherﳒthe hypocritesﳓand the disbelieversﳔinﳕHellﳖall togetherﳗ(140)

He has already revealed to you in the Book that when you hear Allah’s revelations being denied or ridiculed, then do not sit in that company unless they engage in a different topic, or else you will be like them.1 Surely Allah will gather the hypocrites and disbelievers all together in Hell.
