ﱁAlif Laam Meem Saadﱂ(1)

Alif-Lãm-Mĩm-Ṣãd.

7:2

ﱃ(This is) a Bookﱄrevealedﱅto youﱆso (let) notﱇbeﱈinﱉyour breastﱊany uneasinessﱋfrom itﱌthat you warnﱍwith itﱎand a reminderﱏfor the believersﱐ(2)

˹This is˺ a Book sent down to you ˹O Prophet˺—do not let anxiety into your heart regarding it—so with it you may warn ˹the disbelievers˺, and as a reminder to the believers.

7:3

ﱑFollowﱒwhatﱓhas been revealedﱔto youﱕfromﱖyour Lordﱗand (do) notﱘfollowﱙfromﱚbeside Himﱛﱜany alliesﱝLittleﱞ(is) whatﱟyou rememberﱠ(3)

Follow what has been sent down to you from your Lord, and do not take others as guardians besides Him. How seldom are you mindful!

7:4

ﱡAnd how manyﱢofﱣa cityﱤWe destroyed itﱥand came to itﱦOur punishmentﱧ(at) nightﱨorﱩ(while) theyﱪwere sleeping at noonﱫ(4)

˹Imagine˺ how many societies We have destroyed! Our torment took them by surprise ˹while sleeping˺ at night or midday.

7:5

ﱬThen notﱭwasﱮtheir pleaﱯwhenﱰcame to themﱱOur punishmentﱲexceptﱳthatﱴthey saidﱵIndeed, weﱶwereﱷwrongdoersﱸ(5)

Their only cry—when overwhelmed by Our torment—was, “We have indeed been wrongdoers.”

7:6

ﱹThen surely We will questionﱺthose (to) whomﱻwere sentﱼto them (Messengers)ﱽand surely We will questionﱾthe Messengersﱿ(6)

We will surely question those who received messengers and We will question the messengers ˹themselves˺.

7:7

ﲀThen surely We will narrateﲁto themﲂﲃwith knowledgeﲄand notﲅwere Weﲆabsentﲇ(7)

Then We will give them a full account with sure knowledge—for We were never absent.

7:8

ﲈAnd the weighingﲉthat dayﲊﲋ(will be) the truthﲌSo whose ﲍ(will be) heavyﲎhis scalesﲏthen thoseﲐ[they]ﲑ(will be) the successful onesﲒ(8)

The weighing on that Day will be just. As for those whose scale will be heavy ˹with good deeds˺, ˹only˺ they will be successful.

7:9

ﲓAnd (for) thoseﲔ(will be) lightﲕhis scalesﲖso thoseﲗ(will be) the ones whoﲘlostﲙthemselvesﲚbecauseﲛthey wereﲜto Our Versesﲝ(doing) injusticeﲞ(9)

But those whose scale is light, they have doomed themselves for wrongfully denying Our signs.

7:10

ﲟAnd certainlyﲠWe established youﲡinﲢthe earthﲣand We madeﲤfor youﲥin itﲦﲧlivelihoodﲨLittleﲩ(is) whatﲪyou (are) gratefulﲫ(10)

We have indeed established you on earth and provided you with a means of livelihood. ˹Yet˺ you seldom give any thanks.

7:11

ﲬAnd certainlyﲭWe created youﲮthenﲯWe fashioned youﲰThenﲱWe saidﲲto the AngelsﲳProstrateﲴto AdamﲵSo they prostratedﲶexceptﲷIblisﲸNotﲹhe wasﲺofﲻthose who prostratedﲼ(11)

Surely We created you,1 then shaped you, then said to the angels, “Prostrate before Adam,” so they all did—but not Iblîs,2 who refused to prostrate with the others.
