7:23

ﱁBoth of them saidﱂOur Lordﱃwe have wrongedﱄourselvesﱅand ifﱆnotﱇYou forgiveﱈ[for] usﱉand have mercy (on) usﱊsurely, we will beﱋamongﱌthe losersﱍ(23)

They replied, “Our Lord! We have wronged ourselves. If You do not forgive us and have mercy on us, we will certainly be losers.”

7:24

ﱎ(Allah) saidﱏGet downﱐsome of youﱑto some othersﱒﱓ(as) enemyﱔAnd for youﱕinﱖthe earthﱗ(is) a dwelling placeﱘand livelihoodﱙforﱚa timeﱛ(24)

Allah said, “Descend as enemies to each other.1 You will find in the earth a residence and provision for your appointed stay.”

7:25

ﱜHe saidﱝIn itﱞyou will liveﱟand in itﱠyou will dieﱡand from itﱢyou will be brought forthﱣ(25)

He added, “There you will live, there you will die, and from there you will be resurrected.”

7:26

ﱤO Childrenﱥ(of) AdamﱦVerilyﱧWe have sent downﱨto youﱩclothingﱪit coversﱫyour shameﱬﱭand (as) an adornmentﱮBut the clothingﱯ(of) [the] righteousness ﱰthatﱱﱲ(is) bestﱳThatﱴ(is) fromﱵ(the) Signsﱶ(of) Allahﱷso that they mayﱸrememberﱹ(26)

O children of Adam! We have provided for you clothing to cover your nakedness and as an adornment. However, the best clothing is righteousness. This is one of Allah’s bounties, so perhaps you will be mindful.

7:27

ﱺO Childrenﱻ(of) Adamﱼ(Let) notﱽtempt youﱾ[the] Shaitaanﱿasﲀhe drove outﲁyour parentsﲂfromﲃParadiseﲄstrippingﲅfrom both of themﲆtheir clothingﲇto show both of themﲈﲉtheir shameﲊIndeed, heﲋsees you ﲌheﲍand his tribeﲎfromﲏwhereﲐnotﲑﲒyou see themﲓIndeedﲔWe have madeﲕthe devilsﲖfriendsﲗof those whoﲘ(do) notﲙbelieveﲚ(27)

O children of Adam! Do not let Satan deceive you as he tempted your parents out of Paradise and caused their cover to be removed in order to expose their nakedness. Surely he and his soldiers watch you from where you cannot see them. We have made the devils allies of those who disbelieve.

7:28

ﲛAnd whenﲜthey doﲝimmoralityﲞthey sayﲟWe foundﲠon itﲡour forefathersﲢand Allahﲣ(has) ordered usﲤﲥof itﲦSayﲧIndeedﲨAllahﲩ(does) notﲪorderﲫﲬimmoralityﲭDo you sayﲮaboutﲯAllahﲰwhatﲱnotﲲyou knowﲳ(28)

Whenever they commit a shameful deed,1 they say, “We found our forefathers doing it and Allah has commanded us to do it.” Say, “No! Allah never commands what is shameful. How can you attribute to Allah what you do not know?”

7:29

ﲴSayﲵ(Has been) orderedﲶ(by) my Lordﲷﲸjusticeﲹand setﲺyour facesﲻatﲼeveryﲽmasjidﲾand invoke Himﲿ(being) sincereﳀto Himﳁﳂ(in) the religionﳃAsﳄHe originated youﳅ(so) will you returnﳆ(29)

Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “My Lord has commanded uprightness and dedication ˹to Him alone˺ in worship, calling upon Him with sincere devotion. Just as He first brought you into being, you will be brought to life again.”

7:30

ﳇA groupﳈHe guidedﳉand a groupﳊdeserved ﳋ[on] theyﳌﳍthe astrayingﳎIndeed, theyﳏtakeﳐthe devilsﳑ(as) alliesﳒfromﳓbesidesﳔAllahﳕwhile they thinkﳖthat theyﳗ(are the) guided-onesﳘ(30)

He has guided some, while others are destined to stray. They have taken devils as their masters instead of Allah—thinking they are ˹rightly˺ guided.
