7:96

ﱁAnd ifﱂ[that]ﱃpeopleﱄ(of) the citiesﱅ(had) believedﱆand feared Allahﱇsurely We (would have) openedﱈupon themﱉblessingsﱊfromﱋthe heavenﱌand the earthﱍbutﱎthey deniedﱏSo We seized themﱐfor whatﱑthey used toﱒearnﱓ(96)

Had the people of those societies been faithful and mindful ˹of Allah˺, We would have overwhelmed them with blessings from heaven and earth. But they disbelieved, so We seized them for what they used to commit.

7:97

ﱔThen did feel secureﱕ(the) peopleﱖ(of) the citiesﱗthatﱘcomes to themﱙOur punishmentﱚ(at) nightﱛwhile theyﱜ(were) asleepﱝ(97)

Did the people of those societies feel secure that Our punishment would not come upon them by night while they were asleep?

7:98

ﱞOr felt secureﱟ(the) peopleﱠ(of) the citiesﱡthatﱢcomes to themﱣOur punishmentﱤ(in) daylightﱥwhile theyﱦ(were) playingﱧ(98)

Or did they feel secure that Our punishment would not come upon them by day while they were at play?

7:99

ﱨThen did they feel secureﱩ(from the) planﱪﱫ(of) AllahﱬBut notﱭfeel secureﱮ(from the) planﱯ(of) Allahﱰexceptﱱthe peopleﱲ(who are) the losersﱳ(99)

Did they feel secure against Allah’s planning? None would feel secure from Allah’s planning except the losers.

7:100

ﱴWould it notﱵguideﱶ[for] those whoﱷinheritﱸthe landﱹfromﱺafterﱻits peopleﱼthatﱽifﱾWe willedﱿWe (could) afflict themﲀﲁfor their sinsﲂand We put a sealﲃoverﲄtheir heartsﲅso theyﲆ(do) notﲇhearﲈ(100)

Is it not clear to those who take over the land after ˹the destruction of˺ its former residents that—if We will—We can punish them ˹too˺ for their sins and seal their hearts so they will not hear ˹the truth˺?

7:101

ﲉTheseﲊ(were) the cities ﲋWe relateﲌto youﲍofﲎﲏtheir newsﲐAnd certainlyﲑcame to themﲒtheir Messengersﲓwith clear proofsﲔbut notﲕthey wereﲖto believeﲗin whatﲘthey (had) deniedﲙfromﲚﲛbeforeﲜThusﲝ(has been) put a sealﲞ(by) Allahﲟonﲠ(the) heartsﲡ(of) the disbelieversﲢ(101)

We have narrated to you ˹O Prophet˺ some of the stories of those societies. Surely, their messengers came to them with clear proofs, but still they would not believe in what they had already denied. This is how Allah seals the hearts of the disbelievers.

7:102

ﲣAnd notﲤWe foundﲥfor most of themﲦanyﲧﲨcovenantﲩButﲪWe foundﲫmost of themﲬcertainly, defiantly disobedientﲭ(102)

We did not find most of them true to their covenant. Rather, We found most of them truly rebellious.

7:103

ﲮThenﲯWe sentﲰfromﲱafter themﲲMusaﲳwith Our SignsﲴtoﲵFiraunﲶand his chiefsﲷBut they were unjustﲸﲹto themﲺSo seeﲻhowﲼwasﲽ(the) endﲾ(of) the corruptersﲿ(103)

Then after them We sent Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they wrongfully rejected them. See what was the end of the corruptors!

7:104

ﳀAnd saidﳁMusaﳂO FiraunﳃIndeed, I amﳄa Messengerﳅfromﳆ(the) Lordﳇ(of) the worldsﳈ(104)

And Moses said, “O Pharaoh! I am truly a messenger from the Lord of all worlds,
