7:131

ﱁBut whenﱂcame to themﱃthe goodﱄthey saidﱅFor usﱆﱇ(is) thisﱈAnd ifﱉafflicts themﱊbadﱋthey ascribe evil omensﱌto Musaﱍand whoﱎﱏ(were) with himﱐBeholdﱑOnlyﱒtheir evil omensﱓ(are) withﱔAllahﱕbutﱖmost of themﱗ(do) notﱘknowﱙ(131)

In times of prosperity, they said, “This is what we deserve,” but in adversity, they blamed it on Moses and those with him.1 Surely all is destined by Allah. Yet most of them did not know.

7:132

ﱚAnd they saidﱛWhateverﱜyou bring usﱝtherewithﱞofﱟ(the) signﱠso that you bewitch usﱡwith itﱢthen notﱣweﱤ(will be) in youﱥbelieversﱦ(132)

They said, “No matter what sign you may bring to deceive us, we will never believe in you.”

7:133

ﱧSo We sentﱨon themﱩthe floodﱪand the locustsﱫand the liceﱬand the frogsﱭand the bloodﱮ(as) signsﱯmanifestﱰbut they showed arroganceﱱand they wereﱲa peopleﱳcriminalﱴ(133)

So We plagued them with floods, locusts, lice, frogs, and blood—all as clear signs, but they persisted in arrogance and were a wicked people.

7:134

ﱵAnd whenﱶfellﱷon themﱸthe punishmentﱹthey saidﱺO MusaﱻInvokeﱼfor usﱽyour Lordﱾby whatﱿHe has promisedﲀﲁto youﲂIfﲃyou removeﲄfrom usﲅthe punishmentﲆsurely, we will believeﲇ[for] youﲈand surely, we will sendﲉwith youﲊ(the) Childrenﲋ(of) Israelﲌ(134)

When tormented, they pleaded, “O Moses! Pray to your Lord on our behalf, by virtue of the covenant He made with you. If you help remove this torment from us, we will certainly believe in you and let the Children of Israel go with you.”

7:135

ﲍBut whenﲎWe removedﲏfrom themﲐthe punishmentﲑtillﲒa (fixed) termﲓ(which) theyﲔwere to reach [it]ﲕthenﲖtheyﲗbroke (the word)ﲘ(135)

But as soon as We removed the torment from them—until they met their inevitable fate1—they broke their promise.

7:136

ﲙSo We took retributionﲚfrom themﲛand We drowned themﲜinﲝthe seaﲞbecause theyﲟdeniedﲠOur Signsﲡand they wereﲢto themﲣheedlessﲤ(136)

So We inflicted punishment upon them, drowning them in the sea for denying Our signs and being heedless of them.

7:137

ﲥAnd We made inheritorsﲦthe peopleﲧthose whoﲨwereﲩconsidered weak ﲪ(the) eastern (parts)ﲫ(of) the landﲬand the western (parts) of itﲭwhichﲮWe blessedﲯﲰ[in it]ﲱAnd was fulfilledﲲ(the) wordﲳ(of) your Lord ﲴthe bestﲵforﲶ(the) Childrenﲷ(of) Israelﲸbecauseﲹﲺthey were patientﲻAnd We destroyedﲼwhatﲽused toﲾmakeﲿFiraunﳀand his peopleﳁand whatﳂthey used toﳃerectﳄ(137)

And ˹so˺ We made the oppressed people successors of the eastern and western lands, which We had showered with blessings. ˹In this way˺ the noble Word of your Lord was fulfilled for the Children of Israel for what they had endured. And We destroyed what Pharaoh and his people constructed and what they established.
