7:121

They saidWe believein (the) Lord(of) the worlds(121)

They declared, “We ˹now˺ believe in the Lord of all worlds—

7:122

Lord(of) Musaand Harun(122)

the Lord of Moses and Aaron.”

7:123

SaidFiraunYou believedin himbefore[that]I give permissionﱑﱒto youIndeedthis(is) surely a plotyou have plotted itinthe cityso that you may drive outfrom itﱛﱜits peopleBut soonyou will know(123)

Pharaoh threatened, “How dare you believe in him before I give you permission? This must be a conspiracy you devised in the city to drive out its people, but soon you will see.

7:124

I will surely cut offyour handsand your feetofopposite (sides)ThenI will surely crucify youall(124)

I will certainly cut off your hands and feet on opposite sides, then crucify you all.”

7:125

They saidIndeed, wetoour Lord(will) return(125)

They responded, “Surely to our Lord we will ˹all˺ return.

7:126

And notyou take revengefrom usexceptthatwe believedin (the) Signs(of) our Lordwhenﱸﱹthey came to usOur LordPourupon uspatienceand cause us to dieﱿ(as) Muslims(126)

Your rage towards us is only because we believed in the signs of our Lord when they came to us. Our Lord! Shower us with perseverance, and let us die while submitting ˹to You˺.”1

7:127

And saidthe chiefsof(the) people(of) FiraunWill you leaveMusaand his peopleso that they cause corruptioninthe earthand forsake youﲍﲎand your godsHe saidWe will killtheir sonsand we will let livetheir womenand indeed, weover them(are) subjugators(127)

The chiefs of Pharaoh’s people protested, “Are you going to leave Moses and his people free to spread corruption in the land and abandon you and your gods?” He responded, “We will kill their sons and keep their women.1 We will completely dominate them.”

7:128

SaidMusato his peopleSeek helpfrom Allahﲝﲞand be patientIndeedthe earth(belongs) to AllahHe causes to inherit itwhomHe willsofﲦﲧHis servantsAnd the end(is) for the righteous(128)

Moses reassured his people, “Seek Allah’s help and be patient. Indeed, the earth belongs to Allah ˹alone˺. He grants it to whoever He chooses of His servants. The ultimate outcome belongs ˹only˺ to the righteous.”

7:129

They saidWe have been harmedfrombefore[that]you came to usfromand after[what]ﲴﲵyou have come to usHe saidPerhapsyour Lord[that]will destroyyour enemyand make you successorsinthe earthﲿthen seehowyou will do(129)

They complained, “We have always been oppressed—before and after you came to us ˹with the message˺.” He replied, “Perhaps your Lord will destroy your enemy and make you successors in the land to see what you will do.”

7:130

And certainlyWe seized(the) people(of) Firaunwith years (of famine)and a deficitof[the] fruitsso that they mayreceive admonition(130)

Indeed, We afflicted Pharaoh’s people with famine and shortage of crops so they might come back ˹to their senses˺.
