7:121

ﱁThey saidﱂWe believeﱃin (the) Lordﱄ(of) the worldsﱅ(121)

They declared, “We ˹now˺ believe in the Lord of all worlds—

7:122

ﱆLordﱇ(of) Musaﱈand Harunﱉ(122)

the Lord of Moses and Aaron.”

7:123

ﱊSaidﱋFiraunﱌYou believedﱍin himﱎbeforeﱏ[that]ﱐI give permissionﱑﱒto youﱓIndeedﱔthisﱕ(is) surely a plotﱖyou have plotted itﱗinﱘthe cityﱙso that you may drive outﱚfrom itﱛﱜits peopleﱝBut soonﱞyou will knowﱟ(123)

Pharaoh threatened, “How dare you believe in him before I give you permission? This must be a conspiracy you devised in the city to drive out its people, but soon you will see.

7:124

ﱠI will surely cut offﱡyour handsﱢand your feetﱣofﱤopposite (sides)ﱥThenﱦI will surely crucify youﱧallﱨ(124)

I will certainly cut off your hands and feet on opposite sides, then crucify you all.”

7:125

ﱩThey saidﱪIndeed, weﱫtoﱬour Lordﱭ(will) returnﱮ(125)

They responded, “Surely to our Lord we will ˹all˺ return.

7:126

ﱯAnd notﱰyou take revengeﱱfrom usﱲexceptﱳthatﱴwe believedﱵin (the) Signsﱶ(of) our Lordﱷwhenﱸﱹthey came to usﱺOur LordﱻPourﱼupon usﱽpatienceﱾand cause us to dieﱿ(as) Muslimsﲀ(126)

Your rage towards us is only because we believed in the signs of our Lord when they came to us. Our Lord! Shower us with perseverance, and let us die while submitting ˹to You˺.”1

7:127

ﲁAnd saidﲂthe chiefsﲃofﲄ(the) peopleﲅ(of) FiraunﲆWill you leaveﲇMusaﲈand his peopleﲉso that they cause corruptionﲊinﲋthe earthﲌand forsake youﲍﲎand your godsﲏHe saidﲐWe will killﲑtheir sonsﲒand we will let liveﲓtheir womenﲔand indeed, weﲕover themﲖ(are) subjugatorsﲗ(127)

The chiefs of Pharaoh’s people protested, “Are you going to leave Moses and his people free to spread corruption in the land and abandon you and your gods?” He responded, “We will kill their sons and keep their women.1 We will completely dominate them.”

7:128

ﲘSaidﲙMusaﲚto his peopleﲛSeek helpﲜfrom Allahﲝﲞand be patientﲟIndeedﲠthe earthﲡ(belongs) to AllahﲢHe causes to inherit itﲣwhomﲤHe willsﲥofﲦﲧHis servantsﲨAnd the endﲩ(is) for the righteousﲪ(128)

Moses reassured his people, “Seek Allah’s help and be patient. Indeed, the earth belongs to Allah ˹alone˺. He grants it to whoever He chooses of His servants. The ultimate outcome belongs ˹only˺ to the righteous.”

7:129

ﲫThey saidﲬWe have been harmedﲭfromﲮbeforeﲯ[that]ﲰyou came to usﲱfromﲲand afterﲳ[what]ﲴﲵyou have come to usﲶHe saidﲷPerhapsﲸyour Lordﲹ[that]ﲺwill destroyﲻyour enemyﲼand make you successorsﲽinﲾthe earthﲿthen seeﳀhowﳁyou will doﳂ(129)

They complained, “We have always been oppressed—before and after you came to us ˹with the message˺.” He replied, “Perhaps your Lord will destroy your enemy and make you successors in the land to see what you will do.”

7:130

ﳃAnd certainlyﳄWe seizedﳅ(the) peopleﳆ(of) Firaunﳇwith years (of famine)ﳈand a deficitﳉofﳊ[the] fruitsﳋso that they mayﳌreceive admonitionﳍ(130)

Indeed, We afflicted Pharaoh’s people with famine and shortage of crops so they might come back ˹to their senses˺.
