9:14

ﱁFight them ﱂAllah will punish themﱃAllah will punish themﱄby your handsﱅand disgrace themﱆand give you victoryﱇover themﱈand will healﱉ(the) breastsﱊ(of) a peopleﱋ(who are) believersﱌ(14)

˹So˺ fight them and Allah will punish them at your hands, put them to shame, help you overcome them, and soothe the hearts of the believers—

9:15

ﱍAnd removeﱎ(the) angerﱏﱐ(of) their heartsﱑAnd Allah accepts repentanceﱒAnd Allah accepts repentanceﱓofﱔwhomﱕﱖHe willsﱗAnd Allahﱘ(is) All-KnowerﱙAll-Wiseﱚ(15)

removing rage from their hearts. And Allah pardons whoever He wills. For Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise.

9:16

ﱛOrﱜ(do) you thinkﱝthatﱞyou would be leftﱟwhile notﱠAllah made evidentﱡAllah made evidentﱢthose whoﱣstriveﱤamong youﱥand notﱦtakeﱧbesides Allahﱨbesides Allahﱩbesides Allahﱪand notﱫHis Messengerﱬand notﱭthe believersﱮﱯ(as) intimatesﱰAnd Allahﱱ(is) All-Awareﱲof whatﱳyou doﱴ(16)

Do you ˹believers˺ think that you will be left without Allah proving who among you ˹truly˺ struggles ˹in His cause˺ and never takes trusted allies other than Allah, His Messenger, or the believers? And Allah is All-Aware of what you do.

9:17

ﱵ(It) is notﱶ(It) is notﱷfor the polytheistsﱸthatﱹthey maintainﱺ(the) masajid of Allahﱻ(the) masajid of Allahﱼ(while) witnessingﱽagainstﱾthemselvesﱿﲀ[with] disbeliefﲁ(For) thoseﲂworthlessﲃ(are) their deedsﲄand inﲅthe Fireﲆtheyﲇ(will) abide foreverﲈ(17)

It is not for the polytheists to maintain the mosques of Allah while they openly profess disbelief. Their deeds are void, and they will be in the Fire forever.

9:18

ﲉOnlyﲊwill maintainﲋ(the) masajid of Allahﲌ(the) masajid of Allahﲍ(the one) whoﲎbelievesﲏin Allahﲐand the Dayﲑthe Lastﲒand establishesﲓthe prayerﲔand givesﲕthe zakahﲖand notﲗfearﲘexceptﲙﲚAllahﲛThen perhapsﲜthoseﲝ[that]ﲞthey areﲟofﲠthe guided onesﲡ(18)

The mosques of Allah should only be maintained by those who believe in Allah and the Last Day, establish prayer, pay alms-tax, and fear none but Allah. It is right to hope that they will be among the ˹truly˺ guided.

9:19

ﲢ ﲣDo you makeﲤthe providing of waterﲥ(to) the pilgrimsﲦand (the) maintenanceﲧ(of) Al-Masjid Al-Haraamﲨ(of) Al-Masjid Al-Haraamﲩlike (the one) whoﲪbelievesﲫin Allahﲬand the Dayﲭthe Lastﲮand strivesﲯinﲰ(the) wayﲱﲲ(of) AllahﲳThey are not equalﲴThey are not equalﲵnearﲶﲷAllahﲸAnd Allahﲹ(does) notﲺguideﲻthe people ﲼthe wrongdoersﲽ(19)

Do you ˹pagans˺ consider providing the pilgrims with water and maintaining the Sacred Mosque as equal to believing in Allah and the Last Day and struggling in the cause of Allah? They are not equal in Allah’s sight. And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.

9:20

ﲾThose whoﲿbelievedﳀand emigratedﳁand stroveﳂinﳃ(the) wayﳄ(of) Allahﳅwith their wealthﳆand their livesﳇ(are) greaterﳈ(in) rankﳉnearﳊﳋAllahﳌAnd those ﳍtheyﳎ(are) the successfulﳏ(20)

Those who have believed, emigrated, and strived in the cause of Allah with their wealth and their lives are greater in rank in the sight of Allah. It is they who will triumph.
