9:123

ﱁO you who believeﱂO you who believeﱃO you who believeﱄFightﱅthose whoﱆ(are) close to youﱇofﱈthe disbelieversﱉand let them findﱊin youﱋﱌharshnessﱍAnd knowﱎthatﱏAllahﱐ(is) withﱑthose who fear (Him)ﱒ(123)

O believers! Fight the disbelievers around you and let them find firmness in you. And know that Allah is with those mindful ˹of Him˺.

9:124

ﱓAnd wheneverﱔAnd wheneverﱕis revealedﱖa Surahﱗamong themﱘ(are some) whoﱙsayﱚWhich of youﱛ(has) increased [it]ﱜ(by) thisﱝﱞ(in) faithﱟAs forﱠthose whoﱡbelieveﱢthen it has increased themﱣ(in) faithﱤand theyﱥrejoiceﱦ(124)

Whenever a sûrah is revealed, some of them ask ˹mockingly˺, “Which of you has this increased in faith?” As for the believers, it has increased them in faith and they rejoice.

9:125

ﱧBut as forﱨthoseﱩinﱪtheir heartsﱫ(is) a diseaseﱬ(it) increases themﱭ(in) evilﱮtoﱯtheir evilﱰAnd they dieﱱwhile theyﱲ(are) disbelieversﱳ(125)

But as for those with sickness in their hearts,1 it has increased them only in wickedness upon their wickedness, and they die as disbelievers.

9:126

ﱴDo notﱵthey seeﱶthat theyﱷare triedﱸ[in]ﱹeveryﱺyearﱻonceﱼorﱽtwiceﱾYetﱿnotﲀthey turn (in repentance)ﲁand notﲂtheyﲃpay heedﲄ(126)

Do they not see that they are tried once or twice every year?1 Yet they neither repent nor do they learn a lesson.

9:127

ﲅAnd wheneverﲆAnd wheneverﲇis revealedﲈa Surahﲉlookﲊsome of themﲋtoﲌothersﲍDoesﲎsee youﲏanyﲐoneﲑThenﲒﲓthey turn awayﲔAllah has turned awayﲕAllah has turned awayﲖtheir heartsﲗbecause theyﲘ(are) a peopleﲙnotﲚthey understandﲛ(127)

Whenever a sûrah is revealed, they look at one another, ˹saying,˺ “Is anyone watching you?” Then they slip away. ˹It is˺ Allah ˹Who˺ has turned their hearts away because they are a people who do not comprehend.

9:128

ﲜCertainlyﲝ(has) come to youﲞa MessengerﲟfromﲠyourselvesﲡGrievousﲢto himﲣ(is) whatﲤyou sufferﲥ(he is) concernedﲦover youﲧto the believersﲨ(he is) kindﲩ(and) mercifulﲪ(128)

There certainly has come to you a messenger from among yourselves. He is concerned by your suffering, anxious for your well-being, and gracious and merciful to the believers.

9:129

ﲫBut ifﲬthey turn awayﲭthen sayﲮSufficient for meﲯ(is) Allahﲰ(There is) noﲱgodﲲexceptﲳﲴHimﲵOn HimﲶﲷI put my trustﲸAnd Heﲹ(is the) Lordﲺ(of) the Throneﲻthe Greatﲼ(129)

But if they turn away, then say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “Allah is sufficient for me. There is no god ˹worthy of worship˺ except Him. In Him I put my trust. And He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne.”
