11:118

And ifyour Lord (had) willedyour Lord (had) willedsurely He (could) have madethe mankindone communityﱇﱈone communitybut notthey will ceaseto differ(118)

Had your Lord so willed, He would have certainly made humanity one single community ˹of believers˺, but they will always ˹choose to˺ differ—

11:119

Except(on) whomyour Lord has bestowed Mercyﱐﱑyour Lord has bestowed Mercyand for thatﱓﱔHe created themAnd will be fulfilled(the) Word of your Lord(the) Word of your LordSurely I will fillHellwiththe Jinnand the menall together(119)

except those shown mercy by your Lord—and so He created them ˹to choose freely˺. And so the Word of your Lord will be fulfilled: “I will surely fill up Hell with jinn and humans all together.”

11:120

And eachWe relateto youof(the) news(of) the Messengers(for) thatWe may make firmwith itﱨﱩyour heartAnd has come to youinthisthe truthand an admonitionand a reminderfor the believers(120)

And We relate to you ˹O Prophet˺ the stories of the messengers to reassure your heart. And there has come to you in this ˹sûrah˺ the truth, a warning ˹to the disbelievers˺, and a reminder to the believers.

11:121

And sayto those who(do) notbelieveWork(according) toyour positionindeed, we(are also) working(121)

Say to those who disbelieve, “Persist in your ways; we will certainly persist in ours.

11:122

And waitindeed, we(are) ones who waitﱿ(122)

And wait! Surely we ˹too˺ are waiting.”

11:123

And for Allah(is the) unseen(of) the heavensand the earthand to Himwill be returnedthe matterall (of) itso worship Himand put your trustﲊﲋupon HimAnd your Lord is notAnd your Lord is notunawareof whatyou do(123)

To Allah ˹alone˺ belongs the knowledge of what is hidden in the heavens and the earth. And to Him all matters are returned. So worship Him and put your trust in Him. And your Lord is never unaware of what you do.

12. YusufJoseph

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

In the Name of Allah—the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful

12:1

ﲒﲓAlif Laam RaThese(are the) Verses(of) the Book[the] clear(1)

Alif-Lãm-Ra. These are the verses of the clear Book.

12:2

Indeed, WeWe have sent it down(as) a Quran in Arabic(as) a Quran in Arabicso that you mayunderstand(2)

Indeed, We have sent it down as an Arabic Quran1 so that you may understand.2

12:3

Werelateto youthe bestof the narrationsin whatWe have revealedto you(of) thisthe Quranalthoughyou werebefore itbefore itsurely amongthe unaware(3)

We relate to you ˹O Prophet˺ the best of stories through Our revelation of this Quran, though before this you were totally unaware ˹of them˺.

12:4

WhensaidYusufto his fatherO my fatherIndeed, II sawelevenelevenstarsand the sunand the moonI saw themto meﲿprostrating(4)

˹Remember˺ when Joseph said to his father, “O my dear father! Indeed I dreamt of eleven stars, and the sun, and the moon—I saw them prostrating to me!”1
