14:34

ﱁAnd He gave youﱂofﱃallﱄwhatﱅﱆyou asked of HimﱇAnd ifﱈyou countﱉ(the) Favor of Allahﱊ(the) Favor of Allahﱋnotﱌﱍyou will (be able to) count themﱎIndeedﱏthe mankindﱐ(is) surely unjustﱑ(and) ungratefulﱒ(34)

And He has granted you all that you asked Him for. If you tried to count Allah’s blessings, you would never be able to number them. Indeed humankind is truly unfair, ˹totally˺ ungrateful.1

14:35

ﱓAnd whenﱔsaidﱕIbrahimﱖMy LordﱗMakeﱘthisﱙcityﱚsafeﱛand keep me awayﱜand my sonsﱝthatﱞwe worshipﱟthe idolsﱠ(35)

˹Remember˺ when Abraham prayed, “My Lord! Make this city ˹of Mecca˺ secure, and keep me and my children away from the worship of idols.

14:36

ﱡMy LordﱢIndeed, theyﱣhave led astrayﱤmanyﱥamongﱦﱧthe mankindﱨSo whoeverﱩfollows meﱪthen indeed, heﱫﱬ(is) of meﱭand whoeverﱮdisobeys meﱯthen indeed, Youﱰ(are) Oft-ForgivingﱱMost Mercifulﱲ(36)

My Lord! They have caused many people to go astray. So whoever follows me is with me, and whoever disobeys me—then surely You are ˹still˺ All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

14:37

ﱳOur LordﱴIndeed, Iﱵ[I] have settledﱶ(some) ofﱷmy offspringsﱸin a valleyﱹnotﱺwithﱻcultivationﱼnearﱽYour Sacred HouseﱾYour Sacred Houseﱿour LordﲀThat they may establishﲁthe prayersﲂSo makeﲃheartsﲄofﲅthe menﲆinclineﲇtowards themﲈand provide themﲉwithﲊthe fruitsﲋso that they mayﲌbe gratefulﲍ(37)

Our Lord! I have settled some of my offspring in a barren valley, near Your Sacred House, our Lord, so that they may establish prayer. So make the hearts of ˹believing˺ people incline towards them and provide them with fruits, so perhaps they will be thankful.

14:38

ﲎOur LordﲏIndeed, YouﲐYou knowﲑwhatﲒwe concealﲓand whatﲔﲕwe proclaimﲖAnd notﲗ(is) hiddenﲘfromﲙAllahﲚanyﲛthingﲜinﲝthe earthﲞand notﲟinﲠthe heavenﲡ(38)

Our Lord! You certainly know what we conceal and what we reveal. Nothing on earth or in heaven is hidden from Allah.

14:39

ﲢAll the Praiseﲣ(is) for Allahﲤthe One Whoﲥhas grantedﲦmeﲧinﲨthe old ageﲩIshmaelﲪﲫand IsaacﲬIndeedﲭmy Lordﲮ(is) All-Hearerﲯ(of) the prayerﲰ(39)

All praise is for Allah who has blessed me with Ishmael and Isaac in my old age. My Lord is indeed the Hearer of ˹all˺ prayers.

14:40

ﲱMy LordﲲMake meﲳan establisherﲴ(of) the prayerﲵand fromﲶﲷmy offspringsﲸOur Lordﲹand acceptﲺmy prayerﲻ(40)

My Lord! Make me and those ˹believers˺ of my descendants keep up prayer. Our Lord! Accept my prayers.

14:41

ﲼOur LordﲽForgiveﲾmeﲿand my parentsﳀand the believersﳁ(on) the Dayﳂwill (be) establishedﳃthe accountﳄ(41)

Our Lord! Forgive me, my parents, and the believers on the Day when the judgment will come to pass.”

14:42

ﳅAnd (do) notﳆthinkﳇ(that) Allahﳈ(is) unawareﳉof whatﳊdoﳋﳌthe wrongdoersﳍOnlyﳎHe gives them respiteﳏto a Dayﳐwill stareﳑin itﳒthe eyesﳓ(42)

Do not think ˹O Prophet˺ that Allah is unaware of what the wrongdoers do. He only delays them until a Day when ˹their˺ eyes will stare in horror—
