16:111

ﱁ ﱂ(On) the Day(when) will comeeverysoulpleadingforitselfand will be paid in fulleverysoulwhatit didand they(will) notbe wronged(111)

˹Consider˺ the Day ˹when˺ every soul will come pleading for itself, and each will be paid in full for what it did, and none will be wronged.

16:112

And Allah sets forthAnd Allah sets fortha similitude(of) a town(that) wassecureand contentcoming to itits provision(in) abundancefromeveryplacebut it denied(the) Favors of Allah(the) Favors of Allahso Allah made it tasteso Allah made it taste(the) garb(of) the hungerand the fearfor whatthey used (to)do(112)

And Allah sets forth the example of a society which was safe and at ease, receiving its provision in abundance from all directions. But its people met Allah’s favours with ingratitude, so Allah made them taste the clutches of hunger and fear for their misdeeds.

16:113

And certainlycame to thema Messengerfrom among thembut they denied himso seized themthe punishmentwhile they(were) wrongdoers(113)

A messenger of their own actually did come to them, but they denied him. So the torment overtook them while they persisted in wrongdoing.

16:114

So eatof whatAllah has provided you Allah has provided you lawfuland goodAnd be grateful(for the) Favor(of) Allahifﱿ[you]Him Aloneyou worship(114)

So eat from the good, lawful things which Allah has provided for you, and be grateful for Allah’s favours, if you ˹truly˺ worship Him ˹alone˺.

16:115

OnlyHe has forbiddento youthe dead animaland the bloodand the flesh(of) the swineand whathas been dedicatedto other (than)Allahﲎﲏ[with it]But (if) one(is) forced without (being)disobedientand nota transgressor then indeedAllah(is) Oft-ForgivingMost Merciful(115)

He has only forbidden you ˹to eat˺ carrion, blood, swine,1 and what is slaughtered in the name of any other than Allah. But if someone is compelled by necessity—neither driven by desire nor exceeding immediate need—then surely Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

16:116

And (do) notsayfor that whichassertyour tonguesthe lieThis(is) lawfuland this(is) forbiddenso that you inventaboutAllahﲨﲩthe lieIndeedthose whoinventaboutAllahthe liethey will not succeedthey will not succeed(116)

Do not falsely declare with your tongues, “This is lawful, and that is unlawful,” ˹only˺ fabricating lies against Allah. Indeed, those who fabricate lies against Allah will never succeed.

16:117

An enjoymentlittleand for them(is) a punishmentpainful(117)

˹It is only˺ a brief enjoyment, then they will suffer a painful punishment.

16:118

And tothose whoare JewsWe have forbiddenwhatWe relatedﲿto youbeforeﳁﳂbeforeAnd notWe wronged thembutthey used (to)themselveswrong(118)

To the Jews, We have forbidden what We related to you before.1 We did not wrong them, but it was they who wronged themselves.
