20:52

He saidIts knowledge(is) withmy Lordinﱆﱇa RecordNoterrsmy Lordand notforgets(52)

He replied, “That knowledge is with my Lord in a Record. My Lord neither falters nor forgets ˹anything˺.”

20:53

The One Whomadefor youthe earth(as) a bedand insertedfor youthereinwaysand sent downfromthe skywaterthen We (have) brought forthwith itpairsofplantsdiverse(53)

˹He is the One˺ Who has laid out the earth for ˹all of˺ you, and set in it pathways for you, and sends down rain from the sky, causing various types of plants to grow,

20:54

Eatand pastureﱤﱥyour cattleIndeedinthatsurely (are) Signsfor possessors(of) intelligence(54)

˹so˺ eat and graze your cattle. Surely in this are signs for people of sound judgment.

20:55

ﱭ ﱮFrom itWe created youand in itWe will return youand from itWe will bring you outtimeanother(55)

From the earth We created you, and into it We will return you, and from it We will bring you back again.

20:56

And verilyWe showed himOur Signsall of thembut he deniedand refused(56)

And We certainly showed Pharaoh all of Our signs,1 but he denied them and refused ˹to believe˺.

20:57

He saidﱿHave you come to usto drive us outofour landwith your magicO Musa(57)

He said, “Have you come to drive us out of our land with your magic, O  Moses?

20:58

Then we will surely produce for youmagiclike itSo makebetween usand between youan appointmentnotwe will fail it[we]and notyou(in) a placeeven(58)

We can surely meet you with similar magic. So set for us an appointment that neither of us will fail to keep, in a central place.”

20:59

He saidYour appointment(is on the) day(of) the festivaland thatwill be assembledthe people(at) forenoon(59)

Moses said, “Your appointment is on the Day of the Festival, and let the people be gathered mid-morning.”

20:60

Then went awayFiraunand put togetherhis planthencame(60)

Pharaoh then withdrew, orchestrated his scheme, then returned.

20:61

Saidto themMusaWoe to you(Do) notinventagainstAllaha lielest He will destroy youﲯﲰwith a punishmentAnd verilyhe failedwhoinvented(61)

Moses warned the magicians, “Woe to you! Do not fabricate a lie against Allah,1 or He will wipe you out with a torment. Whoever fabricates ˹lies˺ is bound to fail.”

20:62

Then they disputed(in) their affairamong themand they kept secretthe private conversation(62)

So the magicians disputed the matter among themselves, conversing privately.

20:63

They saidIndeedthese twoﲿ[two] magiciansthey intendthatthey drive you outofyour landwith their magicand do awaywith your waythe exemplary(63)

They concluded, “These two are only magicians who want to drive you out of your land with their magic, and do away with your most cherished traditions.

20:64

So put togetheryour planthencomeﳎﳏ(in) a lineAnd verily(will be) successfultodaywhoovercomes(64)

So orchestrate your plan, then come forward in ˹perfect˺ ranks. And whoever prevails today will certainly be successful.”
