2:203

ﱁ ﱂAnd rememberﱃAllahﱄduringﱅdaysﱆﱇnumberedﱈThen (he) whoﱉhurriesﱊinﱋtwo daysﱌthen noﱍsinﱎupon himﱏand whoeverﱐdelaysﱑthen noﱒsinﱓﱔupon himﱕfor (the one) whoﱖﱗfearsﱘAnd fearﱙAllahﱚand knowﱛthat youﱜunto Himﱝwill be gatheredﱞ(203)

And remember Allah during ˹these˺ appointed days.1 Whoever departs swiftly on the second day is not sinful, neither are those who stay behind ˹till the third—seeking additional reward˺, so long as they are mindful ˹of their Lord˺. And be mindful of Allah, and know that to Him you will ˹all˺ be gathered.

2:204

ﱟAnd ofﱠthe peopleﱡ(is the one) whoﱢpleases youﱣ(with) his speechﱤinﱥthe lifeﱦ(of) the worldﱧand he calls to witnessﱨAllahﱩonﱪwhatﱫ(is) inﱬhis heartﱭand heﱮ(is) the most quarrelsomeﱯ(of) opponentsﱰ(204)

There are some ˹hypocrites˺ who impress you with their views regarding worldly affairs and openly call upon Allah to witness what is in their hearts, yet they are your worst adversaries.

2:205

ﱱAnd whenﱲhe turns awayﱳhe strivesﱴinﱵthe earthﱶto spread corruptionﱷ[in it]ﱸand destroysﱹthe cropsﱺﱻand progenyﱼAnd Allahﱽ(does) notﱾloveﱿ[the] corruptionﲀ(205)

And when they leave ˹you˺,1 they strive throughout the land to spread mischief in it and destroy crops and cattle. Allah does not like mischief.

2:206

ﲁAnd whenﲂit is saidﲃto himﲄFearﲅAllahﲆtakes himﲇ(his) prideﲈﲉto [the] sinsﲊThen enough for himﲋﲌ(is) Hell ﲍ[and] surely an evilﲎ[the] resting-placeﲏ(206)

When it is said to them, “Fear Allah,” pride carries them off to sin. Hell will be their proper place. What an evil place to rest!

2:207

ﲐAnd ofﲑthe peopleﲒ(is the one) whoﲓsellsﲔhis own selfﲕseekingﲖpleasureﲗﲘ(of) AllahﲙAnd Allahﲚ(is) full of Kindnessﲛto His servantsﲜ(207)

And there are those who would dedicate their lives to Allah’s pleasure. And Allah is Ever Gracious to ˹His˺ servants.

2:208

ﲝO youﲞwhoﲟbelieve[d]ﲠEnterﲡinﲢIslamﲣcompletelyﲤand (do) notﲥfollowﲦfootstepsﲧﲨ(of) the ShaitaanﲩIndeed, heﲪ(is) for youﲫan enemyﲬopenﲭ(208)

O believers! Enter into Islam wholeheartedly and do not follow Satan’s footsteps. Surely he is your sworn enemy.

2:209

ﲮThen ifﲯyou slipﲰfromﲱafterﲲ[what]ﲳcame to youﲴ(from) the clear proofsﲵthen knowﲶthatﲷAllahﲸ(is) All-MightyﲹAll-Wiseﲺ(209)

If you falter after receiving the clear proofs, then know that Allah is indeed Almighty, All-Wise.

2:210

ﲻAreﲼthey waitingﲽ[except]ﲾthatﲿcomes to themﳀAllahﳁinﳂ(the) shadowsﳃofﳄ[the] cloudsﳅand the Angelsﳆand is decreedﳇﳈthe matterﳉAnd toﳊAllahﳋreturnﳌ(all) the mattersﳍ(210)

Are they waiting for Allah ˹Himself˺ to come to them in the shade of clouds, along with the angels? ˹If He did˺, then the matter would be settled ˹at once˺. And to Allah ˹all˺ matters will be returned ˹for judgment˺.
