23:28

ﱁAnd whenﱂyou (have) boardedﱃyouﱄand whoeverﱅ(is) with youﱆ[on]ﱇthe shipﱈthen sayﱉPraiseﱊ(be) to AllahﱋWhoﱌ(has) saved usﱍfromﱎthe people ﱏthe wrongdoersﱐ(28)

Then when you and those with you have settled in the Ark, say, “All praise is for Allah, Who saved us from the wrongdoing people.”

23:29

ﱑAnd sayﱒMy Lordﱓcause me to landﱔ(at) a landing placeﱕblessedﱖand Youﱗ(are) the Bestﱘ(of) those who cause to land.'ﱙ(29)

And pray, “My Lord! Allow me a blessed landing, for You are the best accommodator.”

23:30

ﱚIndeedﱛinﱜthatﱝsurely (are) Signsﱞand indeedﱟWe areﱠsurely testingﱡ(30)

Surely in this are lessons.1 And We ˹always˺ put ˹people˺ to the test.

23:31

ﱢThenﱣWe producedﱤafter themﱥafter themﱦa generationﱧanotherﱨ(31)

Then We raised another generation after them,

23:32

ﱩAnd We sentﱪamong themﱫa Messengerﱬfrom themselvesﱭ[that]ﱮWorshipﱯAllahﱰnotﱱfor youﱲ(is) anyﱳgodﱴﱵother than HimﱶThen will notﱷyou fearﱸ(32)

and sent to them a messenger from among themselves, ˹declaring,˺ “Worship Allah ˹alone˺. You have no god other than Him. Will you not then fear ˹Him˺?”

23:33

ﱹAnd saidﱺthe chiefsﱻofﱼhis peopleﱽwhoﱾdisbelievedﱿand deniedﲀ(the) meetingﲁ(of) the Hereafterﲂwhile We had given them luxuryﲃinﲄthe lifeﲅ(of) the worldﲆNotﲇ(is) thisﲈbutﲉa manﲊlike youﲋHe eatsﲌof whatﲍyou eatﲎ[from it]ﲏand he drinksﲐof whatﲑyou drinkﲒ(33)

But the chiefs of his people—who disbelieved, denied the meeting ˹with Allah˺ in the Hereafter, and were spoiled by the worldly luxuries We had provided for them—said ˹to the masses˺, “This is only a human like you. He eats what you eat, and drinks what you drink.

23:34

ﲓAnd surely ifﲔyou obeyﲕa manﲖlike youﲗindeed, youﲘthenﲙsurely (will be) losersﲚ(34)

And if you ˹ever˺ obey a human like yourselves, then you would certainly be losers.

23:35

ﲛDoes he promise you ﲜthat youﲝwhenﲞyou are deadﲟand you becomeﲠdustﲡand bonesﲢthat youﲣ(will be) brought forthﲤ(35)

Does he promise you that once you are dead and reduced to dust and bones, you will be brought forth ˹alive˺?

23:36

ﲥ ﲦFar-(fetched)ﲧfar-(fetched)ﲨis whatﲩyou are promisedﲪ(36)

Impossible, simply impossible is what you are promised!

23:37

ﲫNotﲬitﲭ(is) butﲮour lifeﲯ(of) the worldﲰwe dieﲱand we liveﲲand notﲳweﲴ(will be) resurrectedﲵ(37)

There is nothing beyond our worldly life. We die, others are born, and none will be resurrected.

23:38

ﲶNotﲷ(is) heﲸbutﲹa manﲺwho (has) inventedﲻaboutﲼAllahﲽa lieﲾand notﲿweﳀ(in) himﳁ(are) believersﳂ(38)

He is no more than a man who has fabricated a lie about Allah, and we will never believe in him.”

23:39

ﳃHe saidﳄMy LordﳅHelp meﳆbecauseﳇthey deny meﳈ(39)

The messenger prayed, “My Lord! Help me, because they have denied ˹me˺.”

23:40

ﳉHe saidﳊAfter a little whileﳋAfter a little whileﳌsurely they will becomeﳍregretfulﳎ(40)

Allah responded, “Soon they will be truly regretful.”

23:41

ﳏSo seized themﳐthe awful cryﳑin truthﳒand We made themﳓﳔ(as) rubbish of dead leavesﳕSo awayﳖwith the people ﳗthe wrongdoersﳘ(41)

Then the ˹mighty˺ blast overtook them with justice, and We reduced them to rubble. So away with the wrongdoing people!

23:42

ﳙThenﳚWe producedﳛafter themﳜafter themﳝa generationﳞanotherﳟ(42)

Then We raised other generations after them.
