24:44

ﱁAllah alternatesﱂAllah alternatesﱃthe nightﱄﱅand the dayﱆIndeedﱇinﱈthatﱉsurely is a lessonﱊfor those who have visionﱋfor those who have visionﱌ(44)

Allah alternates the day and night. Surely in this is a lesson for people of insight.

24:45

ﱍAnd Allahﱎcreatedﱏeveryﱐmoving creatureﱑfromﱒﱓwaterﱔOf themﱕ(is a kind) whoﱖwalksﱗonﱘits bellyﱙand of themﱚ(is a kind) whoﱛwalksﱜonﱝtwo legsﱞand of themﱟ(is a kind) whoﱠwalksﱡonﱢﱣfourﱤAllah createsﱥAllah createsﱦwhatﱧﱨHe willsﱩIndeedﱪAllahﱫonﱬeveryﱭthingﱮ(is) All-Powerfulﱯ(45)

And Allah has created from water every living creature. Some of them crawl on their bellies, some walk on two legs, and some walk on four. Allah creates whatever He wills. Surely Allah is Most Capable of everything.

24:46

ﱰVerilyﱱWe have sent downﱲVersesﱳﱴclearﱵAnd AllahﱶguidesﱷwhomﱸHe willsﱹtoﱺa pathﱻstraightﱼ(46)

We have indeed sent down revelations clarifying ˹the truth˺. But Allah ˹only˺ guides whoever He wills to the Straight Path.

24:47

ﱽAnd they sayﱾWe believeﱿin Allahﲀand in the Messengerﲁand we obeyﲂThenﲃturns awayﲄa partyﲅof themﲆafterﲇafterﲈﲉthatﲊAnd notﲋthoseﲌ(are) believersﲍ(47)

And the hypocrites say, “We believe in Allah and the Messenger, and we obey.” Then a group of them turns away soon after that. These are not ˹true˺ believers.

24:48

ﲎAnd whenﲏthey are calledﲐtoﲑAllahﲒand His Messengerﲓto judgeﲔbetween themﲕbeholdﲖa partyﲗof themﲘ(is) averseﲙ(48)

And as soon as they are called to Allah and His Messenger so he may judge between them, a group of them1 turns away.

24:49

ﲚBut ifﲛisﲜwith themﲝthe truthﲞthey comeﲟto himﲠ(as) promptly obedientﲡ(49)

But if the truth is in their favour, they come to him, fully submitting.

24:50

ﲢIs (there) inﲣtheir heartsﲤa diseaseﲥorﲦdo they doubtﲧorﲨthey fearﲩthatﲪAllah will be unjustﲫAllah will be unjustﲬto themﲭﲮand His MessengerﲯNayﲰthoseﲱ[they]ﲲ(are) the wrongdoersﲳ(50)

Is there a sickness in their hearts? Or are they in doubt? Or do they fear that Allah and His Messenger will be unjust to them? In fact, it is they who are the ˹true˺ wrongdoers.

24:51

ﲴOnlyﲵisﲶ(the) statementﲷ(of) the believersﲸwhenﲹthey are calledﲺtoﲻAllahﲼand His Messengerﲽto judgeﲾbetween themﲿ(is) thatﳀthey sayﳁWe hearﳂﳃand we obeyﳄAnd thoseﳅ[they]ﳆ(are) the successfulﳇ(51)

The only response of the ˹true˺ believers, when they are called to Allah and His Messenger so he may judge between them, is to say, “We hear and obey.” It is they who will ˹truly˺ succeed.

24:52

ﳈAnd whoeverﳉobeysﳊAllahﳋand His Messengerﳌand fearsﳍAllahﳎand (is) conscious of Himﳏthen thoseﳐ[they]ﳑ(are) the successful onesﳒ(52)

For whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger, and fears Allah and is mindful of Him, then it is they who will ˹truly˺ triumph.

24:53

ﳓ ﳔAnd they swearﳕby Allahﳖstrongﳗtheir oathsﳘthat ifﳙyou ordered themﳚﳛsurely they (would) go forthﳜSayﳝ(Do) notﳞﳟswearﳠObedienceﳡﳢ(is) knownﳣIndeedﳤAllahﳥ(is) All-Awareﳦof whatﳧyou doﳨ(53)

They swear by Allah their most solemn oaths that if you ˹O Prophet˺ were to command them, they would certainly march forth ˹in Allah’s cause˺. Say, “˹You˺ do not ˹have to˺ swear; your obedience is well known!”1 Surely Allah is All-Aware of what you do.”
