26. Ash-Shu'araThe Poets
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
In the Name of Allah—the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful
26:1
ﱁTa Seem Meemﱂ(1)
Ṭâ-Sĩn-Mĩm.
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
In the Name of Allah—the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful

ﱁTa Seem Meemﱂ(1)
Ṭâ-Sĩn-Mĩm.
26:2
ﱃTheseﱄ(are the) Versesﱅ(of) the Bookﱆclearﱇ(2)
These are the verses of the clear Book.
26:3
ﱈPerhaps youﱉ(would) killﱊyourselfﱋthat notﱌthey becomeﱍbelieversﱎ(3)
Perhaps you ˹O Prophet˺ will grieve yourself to death over their disbelief.
26:4
ﱏIfﱐWe willﱑWe can send downﱒto themﱓfromﱔthe skyﱕa Signﱖso would bendﱗtheir necksﱘto itﱙ(in) humilityﱚ(4)
If We willed, We could send down upon them a ˹compelling˺ sign from the heavens, leaving their necks bent in ˹utter˺ submission to it.
26:5
ﱛAnd (does) notﱜcome to themﱝanyﱞreminderﱟfromﱠthe Most Graciousﱡnewﱢbutﱣtheyﱤfrom itﱥturn awayﱦ(5)
Whatever new reminder comes to them from the Most Compassionate, they always turn away from it.
26:6
ﱧSo verilyﱨthey have deniedﱩthen will come to themﱪthe newsﱫ(of) whatﱬthey usedﱭat itﱮ(to) mockﱯ(6)
They have certainly denied ˹the truth˺, so they will soon face the consequences of their ridicule.
26:7
ﱰDo notﱱthey seeﱲatﱳthe earth ﱴhow manyﱵWe producedﱶin itﱷofﱸeveryﱹkindﱺnobleﱻ(7)
Have they failed to look at the earth, ˹to see˺ how many types of fine plants We have caused to grow in it?
26:8
ﱼIndeedﱽinﱾthatﱿﲀsurely (is) a signﲁbut notﲂareﲃmost of themﲄbelieversﲅ(8)
Surely in this is a sign. Yet most of them would not believe.
26:9
ﲆAnd indeedﲇyour Lordﲈsurely, Heﲉ(is) the All-Mightyﲊthe Most Mercifulﲋ(9)
And your Lord is certainly the Almighty, Most Merciful.
26:10
ﲌAnd whenﲍyour Lord calledﲎyour Lord calledﲏMusaﲐ[that]ﲑGoﲒ(to) the peopleﲓ(who are) wrongdoersﲔ(10)
˹Remember˺ when your Lord called out to Moses, “Go to the wrongdoing people—
26:11
ﲕ(The) peopleﲖﲗ(of) FiraunﲘWill notﲙthey fearﲚ(11)
the people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear ˹Allah˺?”
26:12
ﲛHe saidﲜMy LordﲝIndeed, Iﲞ[I] fearﲟthatﲠthey will deny meﲡ(12)
He replied, “My Lord! I fear that they will reject me.
26:13
ﲢAnd straitensﲣmy breastﲤand notﲥexpresses wellﲦmy tongueﲧso sendﲨforﲩHarunﲪ(13)
And ˹so˺ my heart will be broken and my tongue will be tied. So send Aaron along ˹as a messenger˺.
26:14
ﲫAnd they haveﲬagainst meﲭa crimeﲮso I fearﲯthatﲰthey will kill meﲱ(14)
Also, they have a charge against me,1 so I fear they may kill me.”
26:15
ﲲHe saidﲳﲴNayﲵgo both of youﲶﲷwith Our SignsﲸIndeed, Weﲹ(are) with youﲺlisteningﲻ(15)
Allah responded, “Certainly not! So go, both of you, with Our signs. We will be with you, listening.
26:16
ﲼSo go both of youﲽ(to) Firaunﲾand sayﲿ'Indeed, weﳀ(are the) Messengerﳁ(of the) Lordﳂ(of) the worldsﳃ(16)
Go to Pharaoh and say, ‘We are messengers from the Lord of all worlds,
26:17
ﳄ[That]ﳅsendﳆwith usﳇ(the) Children of Israel.'ﳈ(the) Children of Israel.'ﳉ(17)
˹commanded to say:˺ ‘Let the Children of Israel go with us.’’”
26:18
ﳊHe saidﳋDid notﳌwe bring you upﳍamong usﳎ(as) a childﳏand you remainedﳐamong usﳑofﳒyour lifeﳓyearsﳔ(18)
Pharaoh protested, “Did we not raise you among us as a child, and you stayed several years of your life in our care?
26:19
ﳕAnd you didﳖyour deedﳗwhichﳘyou didﳙand youﳚ(were) ofﳛthe ungratefulﳜ(19)
Then you did what you did,1 being ˹utterly˺ ungrateful!”
