33:23

ﱁAmongﱂthe believersﱃ(are) menﱄ(who) have been trueﱅ(to) whatﱆthey promised Allahﱇthey promised Allahﱈﱉ[on it]ﱊAnd among themﱋ(is he) whoﱌhas fulfilledﱍhis vowﱎand among themﱏ(is he) whoﱐﱑawaitsﱒAnd notﱓthey alterﱔ(by) any alteration ﱕ(23)

Among the believers are men who have proven true to what they pledged to Allah.1 Some of them have fulfilled their pledge ˹with their lives˺, others are waiting ˹their turn˺. They have never changed ˹their commitment˺ in the least.

33:24

ﱖThat Allah may rewardﱗThat Allah may rewardﱘthe truthfulﱙfor their truthﱚand punishﱛthe hypocritesﱜifﱝHe willsﱞorﱟturn in mercyﱠﱡto themﱢIndeedﱣAllahﱤisﱥOft-ForgivingﱦMost Mercifulﱧ(24)

˹It all happened˺ so Allah may reward the faithful for their faithfulness, and punish the hypocrites if He wills or turn to them ˹in mercy˺. Surely Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

33:25

ﱨAnd Allah turned backﱩAnd Allah turned backﱪthose whoﱫdisbelievedﱬin their rageﱭnotﱮthey obtainedﱯﱰany goodﱱAnd sufficient isﱲAllahﱳ(for) the believersﱴﱵ(in) the battleﱶand Allah isﱷand Allah isﱸAll-StrongﱹAll-Mightyﱺ(25)

And Allah drove back the disbelievers in their rage, totally empty-handed. And Allah spared the believers from fighting. For Allah is All-Powerful, Almighty.

33:26

ﱻAnd He brought downﱼthose whoﱽbacked themﱾamongﱿ(the) Peopleﲀ(of) the Scriptureﲁfromﲂtheir fortressesﲃand castﲄintoﲅtheir heartsﲆ[the] terrorﲇa groupﲈyou killedﲉand you took captiveﲊa groupﲋ(26)

And He brought down those from the People of the Book1 who supported the enemy alliance from their own strongholds, and cast horror into their hearts. You ˹believers˺ killed some, and took others captive.

33:27

ﲌAnd He caused you to inheritﲍtheir landﲎand their housesﲏand their propertiesﲐand a landﲑnotﲒﲓyou (had) troddenﲔAnd Allah isﲕAnd Allah isﲖonﲗeveryﲘthingﲙAll-Powerfulﲚ(27)

He has also caused you to take over their lands, homes, and wealth, as well as lands you have not yet set foot on. And Allah is Most Capable of everything.

33:28

ﲛO ProphetﲜO ProphetﲝSayﲞto your wivesﲟIfﲠyouﲡdesireﲢthe lifeﲣ(of) the worldﲤand its adornmentﲥthen comeﲦI will provide for youﲧand release youﲨ(with) a releaseﲩgoodﲪ(28)

O Prophet! Say to your wives, “If you desire the life of this world and its luxury, then come, I will give you a ˹suitable˺ compensation ˹for divorce˺ and let you go graciously.

33:29

ﲫBut ifﲬyouﲭdesireﲮAllahﲯand His Messengerﲰand the Homeﲱ(of) the Hereafterﲲthen indeedﲳAllahﲴhas preparedﲵfor the good-doersﲶamong youﲷa rewardﲸgreatﲹ(29)

But if you desire Allah and His Messenger and the ˹everlasting˺ Home of the Hereafter, then surely Allah has prepared a great reward for those of you who do good.”

33:30

ﲺO wivesﲻ(of) the ProphetﲼWhoeverﲽcommitsﲾfrom youﲿimmoralityﳀclearﳁwill be doubledﳂfor herﳃthe punishmentﳄﳅtwo foldﳆAnd that isﳇAnd that isﳈforﳉAllahﳊeasyﳋ(30)

O wives of the Prophet! If any of you were to commit a blatant misconduct, the punishment would be doubled for her. And that is easy for Allah.
