35:19

ﱁAnd notﱂequalﱃ(are) the blindﱄand the seeingﱅ(19)

Those blind ˹to the truth˺ and those who can see are not equal,

35:20

ﱆAnd notﱇthe darkness[es]ﱈand notﱉ[the] lightﱊ(20)

nor are the darkness and the light,

35:21

ﱋAnd notﱌthe shadeﱍand notﱎthe heatﱏ(21)

nor the ˹scorching˺ heat and the ˹cool˺ shade.1

35:22

ﱐAnd notﱑequalﱒ(are) the livingﱓand notﱔﱕthe deadﱖIndeedﱗAllahﱘcauses to hearﱙwhomﱚﱛHe willsﱜand notﱝyouﱞcan make hearﱟ(those) whoﱠ(are) inﱡthe gravesﱢ(22)

Nor are the dead and the living equal. Indeed, Allah ˹alone˺ makes whoever He wills hear, but you ˹O Prophet˺ can never make those in the graves hear ˹your call˺.

35:23

ﱣNotﱤyou (are)ﱥbutﱦa warnerﱧ(23)

You are only a warner.

35:24

ﱨIndeed, Weﱩ[We] have sent youﱪwith the truthﱫ(as) a bearer of glad tidingsﱬﱭand (as) a warnerﱮAnd notﱯ(was) anyﱰnationﱱbutﱲhad passedﱳwithin itﱴa warnerﱵ(24)

We have surely sent you with the truth as a deliverer of good news and a warner. There is no community that has not had a warner.1

35:25

ﱶAnd ifﱷthey deny youﱸthen certainlyﱹdeniedﱺthose whoﱻ(were) before themﱼ(were) before themﱽCame to themﱾtheir Messengersﱿwith clear signsﲀand with Scripturesﲁand with the Bookﲂ[the] enlighteningﲃ(25)

If they deny you, so did those before them. Their messengers came to them with clear proofs, divine Books, and enlightening Scriptures.1

35:26

ﲄThenﲅI seizedﲆthose whoﲇﲈdisbelievedﲉand howﲊwasﲋMy rejectionﲌ(26)

Then I seized those who persisted in disbelief. How severe was My response!

35:27

ﲍDo notﲎyou seeﲏthatﲐAllahﲑsends downﲒfromﲓthe skyﲔwaterﲕthen We bring forthﲖtherewithﲗfruitsﲘ(of) variousﲙﲚ[their] colorsﲛAnd inﲜthe mountainsﲝ(are) tractsﲞwhiteﲟand redﲠ(of) variousﲡ[their] colorsﲢand intensely blackﲣand intensely blackﲤ(27)

Do you not see that Allah sends down rain from the sky with which We bring forth fruits of different colours? And in the mountains are streaks of varying shades of white, red, and raven black;

35:28

ﲥAnd amongﲦmenﲧand moving creaturesﲨand the cattleﲩ(are) variousﲪ[their] colorsﲫﲬlikewiseﲭOnlyﲮfearﲯAllahﲰamongﲱHis slavesﲲﲳthose who have knowledgeﲴIndeedﲵAllahﲶ(is) All-MightyﲷOft-Forgivingﲸ(28)

just as people, living beings, and cattle are of various colours as well. Of all of Allah’s servants, only the knowledgeable ˹of His might˺ are ˹truly˺ in awe of Him. Allah is indeed Almighty, All-Forgiving.

35:29

ﲹIndeedﲺthose whoﲻreciteﲼ(the) Bookﲽ(of) Allahﲾand establishﲿthe prayerﳀand spendﳁout of whatﳂWe have provided themﳃsecretlyﳄand openlyﳅhopeﳆ(for) a commerce ﳇneverﳈit will perishﳉ(29)

Surely those who recite the Book of Allah, establish prayer, and donate from what We have provided for them—secretly and openly—˹can˺ hope for an exchange that will never fail,

35:30

ﳊThat He may give them in fullﳋtheir rewardsﳌand increase for themﳍofﳎﳏHis BountyﳐIndeed, Heﳑ(is) Oft-ForgivingﳒMost Appreciativeﳓ(30)

so that He will reward them in full and increase them out of His grace. He is truly All-Forgiving, Most Appreciative.
