ﱁAnd notﱂ(is) Our Commandﱃbutﱄoneﱅlike the twinklingﱆ(of) the eyeﱇ(50)

Our command1 is but a single word,2 done in the blink of an eye.

54:51

ﱈAnd certainlyﱉWe destroyedﱊyour kindsﱋso is (there)ﱌanyﱍwho will receive admonitionﱎ(51)

We have already destroyed the likes of you. So will any ˹of you˺ be mindful?

54:52

ﱏAnd everyﱐthingﱑthey didﱒ(is) inﱓthe written recordsﱔ(52)

Everything they have done is ˹listed˺ in ˹their˺ records.

54:53

ﱕAnd everyﱖsmallﱗand bigﱘ(is) written downﱙ(53)

Every matter, small and large, is written ˹precisely˺.

54:54

ﱚIndeedﱛthe righteousﱜ(will be) inﱝgardensﱞand riverﱟ(54)

Indeed, the righteous will be amid Gardens and rivers,1

54:55

ﱠInﱡa seatﱢ(of) honorﱣnearﱤa KingﱥMost Powerfulﱦ(55)

at the Seat of Honour in the presence of the Most Powerful Sovereign.

55:1

ﱧThe Most Graciousﱨ(1)

The Most Compassionate

55:2

ﱩHe taughtﱪthe Quranﱫ(2)

taught the Quran,

55:3

ﱬHe createdﱭ[the] manﱮ(3)

created humanity,

55:4

ﱯHe taught himﱰ[the] speechﱱ(4)

˹and˺ taught them speech.

55:5

ﱲThe sunﱳand the moonﱴby (precise) calculationﱵ(5)

The sun and the moon ˹travel˺ with precision.

55:6

ﱶAnd the starsﱷand the treesﱸboth prostrateﱹ(6)

The stars and the trees bow down ˹in submission˺.1

55:7

ﱺAnd the heavenﱻHe raised itﱼand He has set upﱽthe balanceﱾ(7)

As for the sky, He raised it ˹high˺, and set the balance ˹of justice˺

55:8

ﱿThat notﲀyou may transgressﲁinﲂthe balanceﲃ(8)

so that you do not defraud the scales.

55:9

ﲄAnd establishﲅthe weightﲆin justiceﲇand (do) notﲈmake deficientﲉthe balanceﲊ(9)

Weigh with justice, and do not give short measure.

55:10

ﲋAnd the earthﲌHe laid itﲍfor the creaturesﲎ(10)

He laid out the earth for all beings.

55:11

ﲏThereinﲐ(is) fruitﲑand date-palmsﲒhavingﲓsheathsﲔ(11)

In it are fruit, palm trees with date stalks,

55:12

ﲕAnd the grainﲖhavingﲗhuskﲘand scented plantsﲙ(12)

and grain with husks, and aromatic plants.

55:13

ﲚSo whichﲛ(of the) favorsﲜ(of) your Lordﲝwill you both denyﲞ(13)

Then which of your Lord’s favours will you ˹humans and jinn˺ both deny?1

55:14

ﲟHe createdﲠthe manﲡfromﲢclayﲣlike the potteryﲤ(14)

He created humankind from ˹sounding˺ clay like pottery,

55:15

ﲥAnd He createdﲦthe jinnﲧfromﲨa smokeless flameﲩofﲪfireﲫ(15)

and created jinn from a ˹smokeless˺ flame of fire.

55:16

ﲬSo whichﲭ(of the) favorsﲮ(of) your Lordﲯwill you both denyﲰ(16)

Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny?

55:17

ﲱLordﲲ(of) the two Eastsﲳand Lordﲴ(of) the two Westsﲵ(17)

˹He is˺ Lord of the two easts and the two wests.1

55:18

ﲶSo whichﲷ(of the) favorsﲸ(of) your Lordﲹwill you both denyﲺ(18)

Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny?
