ﱁHe releasedﱂthe two seasﱃmeetingﱄ(19)
He merges the two bodies of ˹fresh and salt˺ water,

ﱅBetween both of themﱆ(is) a barrierﱇnotﱈthey transgressﱉ(20)
yet between them is a barrier they never cross.1

ﱊSo whichﱋ(of the) favorsﱌ(of) your Lordﱍwill you both denyﱎ(21)
Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny?
55:22
ﱏCome forthﱐfrom both of themﱑthe pearlﱒand the coralﱓ(22)
Out of both ˹waters˺ come forth pearls and coral.
55:23
ﱔSo whichﱕ(of the) favorsﱖ(of) your Lordﱗwill you both denyﱘ(23)
Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny?
55:24
ﱙAnd for Himﱚ(are) the shipsﱛelevatedﱜinﱝthe seaﱞlike mountainsﱟ(24)
To Him belong the ships with raised sails, sailing through the seas like mountains.
55:25
ﱠSo whichﱡ(of the) favorsﱢ(of) your Lordﱣwill you both denyﱤ(25)
Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny?
55:26
ﱥEveryoneﱦwhoﱧ(is) on itﱨ(will) perishﱩ(26)
Every being on earth is bound to perish.
55:27
ﱪBut will remainﱫ(the) Faceﱬ(of) your Lordﱭ(the) Ownerﱮ(of) Majestyﱯand Honorﱰ(27)
Only your Lord Himself,1 full of Majesty and Honour, will remain ˹forever˺.2
55:28
ﱱSo whichﱲ(of the) favorsﱳ(of) your Lordﱴwill you both denyﱵ(28)
Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny?
55:29
ﱶAsks Himﱷwhoeverﱸ(is) inﱹthe heavensﱺﱻand the earthﱼEveryﱽdayﱾHeﱿ(is) inﲀa matterﲁ(29)
All those in the heavens and the earth are dependent on Him. Day in and day out He has something to bring about.1
55:30
ﲂSo whichﲃ(of the) favorsﲄ(of) your Lordﲅwill you both denyﲆ(30)
Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny?
55:31
ﲇSoon We will attendﲈto youﲉO youﲊtwo classesﲋ(31)
We will soon attend to you ˹for judgment˺, O two multitudes ˹of jinn and humans˺!
55:32
ﲌSo whichﲍ(of the) favorsﲎ(of) your Lordﲏwill you both denyﲐ(32)
Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny?
55:33
ﲑO assemblyﲒ(of) the jinnﲓand the menﲔIfﲕyou are ableﲖtoﲗpass beyondﲘ[of]ﲙ(the) regionsﲚ(of) the heavensﲛand the earthﲜﲝthen passﲞNotﲟyou (can) passﲠexceptﲡby authorityﲢ(33)
O assembly of jinn and humans! If you can penetrate beyond the realms of the heavens and the earth, then do so. ˹But˺ you cannot do that without ˹Our˺ authority.
55:34
ﲣSo whichﲤ(of the) favorsﲥ(of) your Lordﲦwill you both denyﲧ(34)
Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny?
55:35
ﲨWill be sentﲩagainst both of youﲪa flameﲫofﲬfireﲭand smokeﲮand notﲯyou will (be able to) defend yourselvesﲰ(35)
Flames of fire and ˹molten˺ copper will be sent against you, and you will not be able to defend one another.
55:36
ﲱSo whichﲲ(of the) favorsﲳ(of) your Lordﲴwill you both denyﲵ(36)
Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny?
55:37
ﲶThen whenﲷis splitﲸthe heavenﲹand it becomesﲺrose-coloredﲻlike murky oilﲼ(37)
˹How horrible will it be˺ when the heavens will split apart, becoming rose-red like ˹burnt˺ oil!
55:38
ﲽSo whichﲾ(of the) favorsﲿ(of) your Lordﳀwill you both denyﳁ(38)
Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny?
55:39
ﳂThen (on) that Dayﳃnotﳄwill be askedﳅaboutﳆhis sinﳇany manﳈand notﳉany jinnﳊ(39)
On that Day there will be no need for any human or jinn to be asked about their sins.1
55:40
ﳋSo whichﳌ(of the) favorsﳍ(of) your Lordﳎwill you both denyﳏ(40)
Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny?
55:41
ﳐWill be knownﳑthe criminalsﳒby their marksﳓand will be seizedﳔby the forelocksﳕand the feetﳖ(41)
The wicked will be recognized by their appearance, then will be seized by ˹their˺ forelocks and feet.
