59:10

ﱁAnd those whoﱂcameﱃfromﱄafter themﱅthey sayﱆOur Lordﱇforgiveﱈusﱉand our brothersﱊwhoﱋpreceded usﱌin faithﱍand (do) notﱎputﱏinﱐour heartsﱑany rancorﱒtowards those whoﱓbelievedﱔOur Lordﱕindeed Youﱖ(are) Full of KindnessﱗMost Mercifulﱘ(10)

And those who come after them will pray, “Our Lord! Forgive us and our fellow believers who preceded us in faith, and do not allow bitterness into our hearts towards those who believe. Our Lord! Indeed, You are Ever Gracious, Most Merciful.”

59:11

ﱙ ﱚDo notﱛyou seeﱜ[to]ﱝthose whoﱞ(were) hypocritesﱟsayingﱠto their brothersﱡthose whoﱢdisbelievedﱣamongﱤthe Peopleﱥ(of) the ScriptureﱦIfﱧyou are expelledﱨsurely we will leaveﱩwith youﱪand notﱫwe will obeyﱬconcerning youﱭanyoneﱮeverﱯand ifﱰyou are foughtﱱcertainly we will help youﱲAnd Allahﱳbears witnessﱴthat theyﱵ(are) surely liarsﱶ(11)

Have you ˹O Prophet˺ not seen the hypocrites who say to their fellow disbelievers from the People of the Book,1 “If you are expelled, we will certainly leave with you, and We will never obey anyone against you. And if you are fought against, we will surely help you.”? But Allah bears witness that they are truly liars.

59:12

ﱷIfﱸthey are expelledﱹnotﱺthey will leaveﱻwith themﱼand ifﱽthey are foughtﱾnotﱿthey will help themﲀAnd ifﲁthey help themﲂcertainly they will turnﲃ(their) backsﲄthenﲅnotﲆthey will be helpedﲇ(12)

Indeed, if they are expelled, the hypocrites will never leave with them. And if they are fought against, the hypocrites will never help them. And even if the hypocrites did so, they would certainly flee, then the disbelievers would be left with no help.

59:13

ﲈCertainly youﲉ(are) more intenseﲊ(in) fearﲋinﲌtheir breastsﲍthanﲎﲏAllahﲐThatﲑ(is) because theyﲒ(are) a peopleﲓ(who do) notﲔunderstandﲕ(13)

Indeed, there is more fear in their hearts for you ˹believers˺ than for Allah. That is because they are a people who do not comprehend.

59:14

ﲖNotﲗwill they fight youﲘallﲙexceptﲚinﲛtownsﲜfortifiedﲝorﲞfromﲟbehindﲠﲡwallsﲢTheir violenceﲣamong themselvesﲤﲥ(is) severeﲦYou think theyﲧ(are) unitedﲨbut their heartsﲩﲪ(are) dividedﲫThatﲬ(is) because theyﲭ(are) a peopleﲮnotﲯthey reasonﲰ(14)

Even united, they would not ˹dare˺ fight against you except ˹from˺ within fortified strongholds or from behind walls. Their malice for each other is intense: you think they are united, yet their hearts are divided. That is because they are a people with no ˹real˺ understanding.

59:15

ﲱLike (the) exampleﲲ(of) thoseﲳfromﲴbefore themﲵﲶshortlyﲷthey tastedﲸ(the) evil resultﲹ(of) their affairﲺand for themﲻ(is) a punishmentﲼpainfulﲽ(15)

They are ˹both just˺ like those who recently went down before them:1 they tasted the evil consequences of their doings. And they will suffer a painful punishment.

59:16

ﲾLike (the) exampleﲿ(of) the Shaitaanﳀwhenﳁhe saysﳂto manﳃDisbelieveﳄBut whenﳅhe disbelievesﳆhe saysﳇIndeed, I amﳈdisassociatedﳉfrom youﳊIndeed, [I]ﳋI fearﳌAllahﳍ(the) Lordﳎ(of) the worldsﳏ(16)

˹They are˺ like Satan when he lures someone to disbelieve. Then after they have done so, he will say ˹on Judgment Day˺, “I have absolutely nothing to do with you. I truly fear Allah—the Lord of all worlds.”1
