69:9
ﱁAnd cameﱂFiraunﱃand (those)ﱄbefore himﱅand the overturned citiesﱆwith sinﱇ(9)
Also, Pharaoh and those before him, and ˹the people of˺ the overturned cities ˹of Lot˺ indulged in sin,
69:10
ﱈAnd they disobeyedﱉ(the) Messengerﱊ(of) their Lordﱋso He seized themﱌ(with) a seizureﱍexceedingﱎ(10)
each disobeying their Lord’s messenger, so He seized them with a crushing grip.
69:11
ﱏIndeed, Weﱐwhenﱑoverflowedﱒthe waterﱓWe carried youﱔinﱕthe sailing (ship)ﱖ(11)
Indeed, when the floodwater had overflowed, We carried you1 in the floating Ark ˹with Noah˺,
69:12
ﱗThat We might make itﱘfor youﱙa reminderﱚand would be conscious of itﱛan earﱜconsciousﱝ(12)
so that We may make this a reminder to you, and that attentive ears may grasp it.
69:13
ﱞThen whenﱟis blownﱠinﱡthe trumpet ﱢa blastﱣsingleﱤ(13)
At last, when the Trumpet will be blown with one blast,
69:14
ﱥAnd are liftedﱦthe earthﱧand the mountainsﱨand crushedﱩ(with) a crushingﱪsingleﱫ(14)
and the earth and mountains will be lifted up and crushed with one blow,
69:15
ﱬThen (on) that Dayﱭwill occurﱮthe Occurrenceﱯ(15)
on that Day the Inevitable Event will have come to pass.
69:16
ﱰAnd will splitﱱthe heavenﱲso itﱳ(is on) that Dayﱴfrailﱵ(16)
The sky will then be so torn that it will be frail,
69:17
ﱶAnd the Angelsﱷ(will be) onﱸﱹits edgesﱺand will bearﱻ(the) Throneﱼ(of) your Lordﱽabove themﱾthat Dayﱿeightﲀ(17)
with the angels on its sides. On that Day eight ˹mighty angels˺ will bear the Throne of your Lord above them.
69:18
ﲁThat Dayﲂyou will be exhibitedﲃnotﲄwill be hiddenﲅamong youﲆany secretﲇ(18)
You will then be presented ˹before Him for judgment˺, and none of your secrets will stay hidden.
69:19
ﲈThen as forﲉ(him) whoﲊis givenﲋhis recordﲌin his right handﲍwill sayﲎHereﲏreadﲐmy recordﲑ(19)
As for those given their records in their right hand, they will cry ˹happily˺, “Here ˹everyone˺! Read my record!
69:20
ﲒIndeed, Iﲓwas certainﲔthat Iﲕ(will) meetﲖmy accountﲗ(20)
I surely knew I would face my reckoning.”
69:21
ﲘSo heﲙ(will be) inﲚa lifeﲛpleasantﲜ(21)
They will be in a life of bliss,
69:22
ﲝInﲞa Gardenﲟelevatedﲠ(22)
in an elevated Garden,
69:23
ﲡIts clusters of fruitsﲢhanging nearﲣ(23)
whose fruit will hang within reach.
69:24
ﲤEatﲥand drinkﲦ(in) satisfactionﲧfor whatﲨyou sent before youﲩinﲪthe daysﲫpastﲬ(24)
˹They will be told,˺ “Eat and drink joyfully for what you did in the days gone by.”
69:25
ﲭBut as forﲮ(him) whoﲯis givenﲰhis recordﲱin his left handﲲwill sayﲳO! I wishﲴnotﲵI had been givenﲶmy recordﲷ(25)
And as for those given their record in their left hand, they will cry ˹bitterly˺, “I wish I had not been given my record,
69:26
ﲸAnd notﲹI had knownﲺwhatﲻ(is) my accountﲼ(26)
nor known anything of my reckoning!
69:27
ﲽO! I wish itﲾhad beenﲿthe endﳀ(27)
I wish death was the end!
69:28
ﳁNotﳂhas availedﳃmeﳄﳅmy wealthﳆ(28)
My wealth has not benefited me!
69:29
ﳇIs goneﳈfrom meﳉmy authorityﳊ(29)
My authority has been stripped from me.”
69:30
ﳋSeize himﳌand shackle himﳍ(30)
˹It will be said,˺ “Seize and shackle them,
69:31
ﳎThenﳏ(into) the Hellfireﳐburn himﳑ(31)
then burn them in Hell,
69:32
ﳒThenﳓintoﳔa chainﳕits lengthﳖ(is) seventyﳗcubitsﳘinsert himﳙ(32)
then tie them up with chains seventy arms long.
69:33
ﳚIndeed, heﳛwasﳜnotﳝbelievingﳞin Allahﳟthe Most Greatﳠ(33)
For they never had faith in Allah, the Greatest,
69:34
ﳡAnd (did) notﳢfeel the urgeﳣonﳤ(the) feedingﳥ(of) the poorﳦ(34)
nor encouraged the feeding of the poor.
69:35
ﳧSo notﳨfor himﳩtodayﳪhereﳫany devoted friendﳬ(35)
So this Day they will have no close friend here,
