70:11
ﱁﱂThey will be made to see each otherﱃWould wishﱄthe criminalﱅifﱆhe (could be) ransomedﱇfromﱈ(the) punishmentﱉ(of) that Dayﱊby his childrenﱋ(11)
˹although˺ they will be made to see each other. The wicked will wish to ransom themselves from the punishment of that Day by their children,
70:12
ﱌAnd his spouseﱍand his brotherﱎ(12)
their spouses, their siblings,
70:13
ﱏAnd his nearest kindredﱐwhoﱑsheltered himﱒ(13)
their clan that sheltered them,
70:14
ﱓAnd whoeverﱔ(is) onﱕthe earthﱖallﱗthenﱘit (could) save himﱙ(14)
and everyone on earth altogether, just to save themselves.
70:15
ﱚﱛBy no meansﱜIndeed, it (is)ﱝsurely a Flame of Hellﱞ(15)
But no! There will certainly be a raging Flame
70:16
ﱟA removerﱠof the skin of the headﱡ(16)
ripping off scalps.
70:17
ﱢInvitingﱣ(him) whoﱤturned his backﱥand went awayﱦ(17)
It will summon whoever turned their backs ˹on Allah˺ and turned away ˹from the truth˺,
70:18
ﱧAnd collectedﱨand hoardedﱩ(18)
and gathered and hoarded ˹wealth˺.
70:19
ﱪ ﱫIndeedﱬthe manﱭwas createdﱮanxious ﱯ(19)
Indeed, humankind was created impatient:
70:20
ﱰWhenﱱtouches himﱲthe evilﱳdistressedﱴ(20)
distressed when touched with evil,
70:21
ﱵAnd whenﱶtouches himﱷthe goodﱸwithholdingﱹ(21)
and withholding when touched with good—
70:22
ﱺExceptﱻthose who pray ﱼ(22)
except those who pray,
70:23
ﱽThose whoﱾ[they]ﱿatﲀtheir prayerﲁ(are) constantﲂ(23)
consistently performing their prayers;
70:24
ﲃAnd those whoﲄinﲅtheir wealthﲆ(is) a rightﲇknownﲈ(24)
and who give the rightful share of their wealth
70:25
ﲉFor the one who asksﲊand the deprivedﲋ(25)
to the beggar and the poor;
70:26
ﲌAnd those whoﲍaccept (the) truthﲎ(of the) Dayﲏ(of) the Judgmentﲐ(26)
and who ˹firmly˺ believe in the Day of Judgment;
70:27
ﲑAnd those whoﲒ[they]ﲓofﲔ(the) punishmentﲕ(of) their Lordﲖ(are) fearful ﲗ(27)
and those who fear the punishment of their Lord—
70:28
ﲘIndeedﲙ(the) punishmentﲚ(of) your Lordﲛ(is) notﲜto be felt secure (of) ﲝ(28)
˹knowing that˺ none should feel secure from their Lord’s punishment—
70:29
ﲞAnd those whoﲟ[they]ﲠtheir modestyﲡ(are) guardiansﲢ(29)
and those who guard their chastity1
70:30
ﲣExceptﲤfromﲥtheir spousesﲦorﲧwhatﲨthey possessﲩrightfullyﲪthen indeed, theyﲫ(are) notﲬblameworthyﲭ(30)
except with their wives or those ˹bondwomen˺ in their possession,1 for then they are free from blame,
70:31
ﲮBut whoeverﲯseeksﲰbeyondﲱthatﲲthen thoseﲳ[they]ﲴ(are) the transgressors ﲵ(31)
but whoever seeks beyond that are the transgressors.
70:32
ﲶAnd those whoﲷ[they]ﲸof their trustsﲹand their promiseﲺ(are) observersﲻ(32)
˹The faithful are˺ also those who are true to their trusts and covenants;
70:33
ﲼAnd those whoﲽ[they]ﲾin their testimoniesﲿstand firmﳀ(33)
and who are honest in their testimony;
70:34
ﳁAnd those whoﳂ[they]ﳃonﳄtheir prayerﳅkeep a guard ﳆ(34)
and who are ˹properly˺ observant of their prayers.
70:35
ﳇThoseﳈ(will be) inﳉGardensﳊhonoredﳋ(35)
These will be in Gardens, held in honour.
70:36
ﳌSo what is withﳍthose whoﳎdisbelieveﳏbefore youﳐ(they) hastenﳑ(36)
So what is the matter with the disbelievers that they rush ˹head-long˺ towards you ˹O Prophet˺,
70:37
ﳒOnﳓthe rightﳔand onﳕthe leftﳖ(in) separate groupsﳗ(37)
from the right and the left, in groups ˹to mock you˺?1
70:38
ﳘDoes longﳙeveryﳚpersonﳛamong themﳜthatﳝhe entersﳞa Gardenﳟ(of) Delightﳠ(38)
Does every one of them expect to be admitted into a Garden of Bliss?
70:39
ﳡﳢBy no meansﳣIndeed, Weﳤ[We] have created themﳥfrom whatﳦthey knowﳧ(39)
But no! Indeed, they ˹already˺ know what We created them from.1
70:40
ﳨBut nayﳩI swearﳪby (the) Lordﳫ(of) the risingsﳬand the settingsﳭthat Weﳮ(are) surely Ableﳯ(40)
So, I do swear by the Lord of ˹all˺ the points of sunrise and sunset1 that We are truly capable
