75:20

ﱁNoﱂButﱃyou loveﱄthe immediateﱅ(20)

But no! In fact, you love this fleeting world,

75:21

ﱆAnd leaveﱇthe Hereafterﱈ(21)

and neglect the Hereafter.

75:22

ﱉFacesﱊthat Dayﱋ(will be) radiantﱌ(22)

On that Day ˹some˺ faces will be bright,

75:23

ﱍTowardsﱎtheir Lordﱏlookingﱐ(23)

looking at their Lord.

75:24

ﱑAnd facesﱒthat Dayﱓ(will be) distortedﱔ(24)

And ˹other˺ faces will be gloomy,

75:25

ﱕThinkingﱖthatﱗwill be doneﱘto themﱙbackbreakingﱚ(25)

anticipating something devastating to befall them.

75:26

ﱛNoﱜWhenﱝit reachesﱞthe collar bonesﱟ(26)

But no! ˹Beware of the day˺ when the soul reaches the collar bone ˹as it leaves˺,

75:27

ﱠAnd it is saidﱡﱢWhoﱣ(will) cureﱤ(27)

and it will be said, “Is there any healer ˹who can save this life˺?”

75:28

ﱥAnd he is certainﱦthat itﱧ(is) the partingﱨ(28)

And the dying person realizes it is ˹their˺ time to depart,

75:29

ﱩAnd is woundﱪthe legﱫabout the legﱬ(29)

and ˹then˺ their feet are tied together ˹in a shroud˺.

75:30

ﱭToﱮyour Lordﱯthat Dayﱰ(will be) the drivingﱱ(30)

On that day they will be driven to your Lord ˹alone˺.

75:31

ﱲAnd notﱳhe accepted (the) truthﱴand notﱵhe prayedﱶ(31)

This denier neither believed nor prayed,

75:32

ﱷButﱸhe deniedﱹand turned awayﱺ(32)

but persisted in denial and turned away,

75:33

ﱻThenﱼhe wentﱽtoﱾhis familyﱿswaggeringﲀ(33)

then went to their own people, walking boastfully.

75:34

ﲁWoeﲂto youﲃand woeﲄ(34)

Woe to you, and more woe!

75:35

ﲅThenﲆwoeﲇto youﲈand woeﲉ(35)

Again, woe to you, and even more woe!

75:36

ﲊDoes thinkﲋmanﲌthatﲍhe will be leftﲎneglectedﲏ(36)

Do people think they will be left without purpose?

75:37

ﲐWas notﲑheﲒa semen-dropﲓofﲔsemenﲕemittedﲖ(37)

Were they not ˹once˺ a sperm-drop emitted?

75:38

ﲗThenﲘhe wasﲙa clinging substanceﲚthen He createdﲛand proportionedﲜ(38)

Then they became a clinging clot,1 then He developed and perfected their form,

75:39

ﲝThen madeﲞof himﲟtwo kindsﲠ(the) maleﲡand the femaleﲢ(39)

producing from it both sexes, male and female.

75:40

ﲣIs notﲤ[that]ﲥ(He) Ableﲦ[over]ﲧtoﲨgive lifeﲩ(to) the deadﲪ(40)

Is such ˹a Creator˺ unable to bring the dead back to life?

76:1

ﲫHasﲬ(there) comeﲭuponﲮmanﲯa periodﲰofﲱtimeﲲnotﲳhe wasﲴa thingﲵmentionedﲶ(1)

Is there not a period of time when each human is nothing yet worth mentioning?1

76:2

ﲷIndeed, Weﲸ[We] createdﲹmanﲺfromﲻa semen-dropﲼa mixtureﲽ(that) We test himﲾso We made (for) himﲿhearingﳀand sightﳁ(2)

˹For˺ indeed, We ˹alone˺ created humans from a drop of mixed fluids,1 ˹in order˺ to test them, so We made them hear and see.

76:3

ﳂIndeed, Weﳃguided himﳄ(to) the wayﳅwhetherﳆ(he) be gratefulﳇand whetherﳈ(he) be ungratefulﳉ(3)

We already showed them the Way, whether they ˹choose to˺ be grateful or ungrateful.

76:4

ﳊIndeed, Weﳋ[We] have preparedﳌfor the disbelieversﳍchainsﳎand shacklesﳏand a Blazing Fireﳐ(4)

Indeed, We have prepared for the disbelievers chains, shackles, and a blazing Fire.

76:5

ﳑIndeedﳒthe righteousﳓwill drinkﳔfromﳕa cupﳖisﳗits mixtureﳘ(of) Kafurﳙ(5)

Indeed, the virtuous will have a drink ˹of pure wine˺—flavoured with camphor—
