90:19

ﱁBut those whoﱂdisbelieveﱃin Our Versesﱄtheyﱅ(are the) companionsﱆ(of) the left (hand)ﱇ(19)

As for those who deny Our signs, they are the people of the left.1

90:20

ﱈOver themﱉ(will be the) Fireﱊclosed inﱋ(20)

The Fire will be sealed over them.

91:1

ﱌBy the sunﱍand its brightnessﱎ(1)

By the sun and its brightness,

91:2

ﱏAnd the moonﱐwhenﱑit follows itﱒ(2)

and the moon as it follows it,1

91:3

ﱓAnd the dayﱔwhenﱕit displays itﱖ(3)

and the day as it unveils it,

91:4

ﱗAnd the nightﱘwhenﱙit covers itﱚ(4)

and the night as it conceals it!

91:5

ﱛAnd the heavenﱜand (He) Whoﱝconstructed itﱞ(5)

And by heaven and ˹the One˺ Who built it,

91:6

ﱟAnd the earthﱠand by (He) Whoﱡspread itﱢ(6)

and the earth and ˹the One˺ Who spread it!

91:7

ﱣAnd (the) soulﱤand (He) Whoﱥproportioned itﱦ(7)

And by the soul and ˹the One˺ Who fashioned it,

91:8

ﱧAnd He inspired itﱨ(to distinguish) its wickednessﱩand its righteousnessﱪ(8)

then with ˹the knowledge of˺ right and wrong inspired it!

91:9

ﱫIndeedﱬhe succeedsﱭwhoﱮpurifies itﱯ(9)

Successful indeed is the one who purifies their soul,

91:10

ﱰAnd indeedﱱhe failsﱲwhoﱳburies itﱴ(10)

and doomed is the one who corrupts it!

91:11

ﱵDeniedﱶThamudﱷby their transgressionﱸ(11)

Thamûd rejected ˹the truth˺ out of arrogance,

91:12

ﱹWhenﱺ(was) sent forthﱻ(the) most wicked of themﱼ(12)

when the most wicked of them was roused ˹to kill the she-camel˺.

91:13

ﱽBut saidﱾto themﱿ(the) Messengerﲀ(of) Allahﲁ(It is the) she-camelﲂ(of) Allahﲃand her drinkﲄ(13)

But the messenger of Allah warned them, “˹Do not disturb˺ Allah’s camel and her ˹turn to˺ drink!”

91:14

ﲅBut they denied himﲆand they hamstrung herﲇSo destroyedﲈthemﲉtheir Lordﲊfor their sinﲋand leveled themﲌ(14)

Still they defied him and slaughtered her. So their Lord crushed them for their crime, levelling all to the ground.1

91:15

ﲍAnd notﲎHe fearsﲏits consequencesﲐ(15)

He has no fear of consequences.

92:1

ﲑBy the nightﲒwhenﲓit coversﲔ(1)

By the night when it covers,

92:2

ﲕAnd the dayﲖwhenﲗit shines in brightnessﲘ(2)

and the day when it shines!

92:3

ﲙAnd He Whoﲚcreatedﲛthe maleﲜand the femaleﲝ(3)

And by ˹the One˺ Who created male and female!

92:4

ﲞIndeedﲟyour effortsﲠ(are) surely diverseﲡ(4)

Surely the ends you strive for are diverse.

92:5

ﲢThen as forﲣ(him) whoﲤgivesﲥand fearsﲦ(5)

As for the one who is charitable, mindful ˹of Allah˺,

92:6

ﲧAnd believesﲨin the bestﲩ(6)

and ˹firmly˺ believes in the finest reward,

92:7

ﲪThen We will ease himﲫtowards [the] easeﲬ(7)

We will facilitate for them the Way of Ease.

92:8

ﲭBut as forﲮ(him) whoﲯwithholdsﲰand considers himself free from needﲱ(8)

And as for the one who is stingy, indifferent ˹to Allah˺,

92:9

ﲲAnd deniesﲳthe bestﲴ(9)

and ˹staunchly˺ denies the finest reward,
