2:38

ﱁWe saidﱂGo downﱃfrom itﱄﱅall (of you)ﱆand whenﱇcomes to youﱈfrom MeﱉGuidanceﱊthen whoeverﱋfollowsﱌMy Guidanceﱍ[then] noﱎfearﱏ(will be) on themﱐand notﱑtheyﱒwill grieveﱓ(38)

We said, “Descend all of you! Then when guidance comes to you from Me, whoever follows it, there will be no fear for them, nor will they grieve.

2:39

ﱔAnd thoseﱕwho disbelieve[d]ﱖand denyﱗOur Signsﱘthoseﱙ(are the) companionsﱚﱛ(of) the Fireﱜtheyﱝin itﱞ(will) abide foreverﱟ(39)

But those who disbelieve and deny Our signs will be the residents of the Fire. They will be there forever.”

2:40

ﱠO Childrenﱡ(of) IsraelﱢRememberﱣMy FavorﱤwhichﱥI bestowedﱦupon youﱧand fulfillﱨMy CovenantﱩI will fulfillﱪyour covenantﱫand Me Aloneﱬfear [Me]ﱭ(40)

O children of Israel!1 Remember My favours upon you. Fulfil your covenant and I will fulfil Mine, and stand in awe of Me ˹alone˺.

2:41

ﱮAnd believeﱯin whatﱰI have sent downﱱconfirmingﱲthat whichﱳ(is) with youﱴand (do) notﱵbeﱶ(the) firstﱷdisbelieverﱸﱹof itﱺAnd (do) notﱻexchangeﱼMy Signs (for)ﱽa priceﱾsmallﱿand Me Aloneﲀfear [Me]ﲁ(41)

Believe in My revelations which confirm your Scriptures.1 Do not be the first to deny them or trade them for a fleeting gain.2 And be mindful of Me.

2:42

ﲂAnd (do) notﲃmixﲄthe Truthﲅwith [the] falsehoodﲆand concealﲇthe Truthﲈwhile youﲉ[you] knowﲊ(42)

Do not mix truth with falsehood or hide the truth knowingly.

2:43

ﲋAnd establishﲌthe prayerﲍand giveﲎzakahﲏand bow downﲐwithﲑthose who bow downﲒ(43)

Establish prayer, pay alms-tax,1 and bow down with those who bow down.

2:44

ﲓ ﲔDo you orderﲕ[the] peopleﲖ[the] righteousnessﲗand you forgetﲘyourselvesﲙwhile youﲚ[you] reciteﲛﲜthe BookﲝThen, will notﲞyou use reasonﲟ(44)

Do you preach righteousness and fail to practice it yourselves, although you read the Scripture? Do you not understand?

2:45

ﲠAnd seek helpﲡthrough patienceﲢﲣand the prayerﲤand indeed, itﲥ(is) surely difficultﲦexceptﲧonﲨthe humble onesﲩ(45)

And seek help through patience and prayer. Indeed, it is a burden except for the humble—

2:46

ﲪThose whoﲫbelieveﲬthat theyﲭwill meetﲮtheir Lordﲯand that theyﲰto Himﲱwill returnﲲ(46)

those who are certain that they will meet their Lord and to Him they will return.

2:47

ﲳO Childrenﲴ(of) IsraelﲵRememberﲶMy FavorﲷwhichﲸI bestowedﲹupon youﲺand that Iﲻ[I] preferred youﲼoverﲽthe worldsﲾ(47)

O Children of Israel! Remember ˹all˺ the favours I granted you and how I honoured you above the others.1

2:48

ﲿAnd fearﳀa dayﳁ(will) notﳂavailﳃany soulﳄforﳅ(another) soulﳆanythingﳇand notﳈwill be acceptedﳉfrom itﳊany intercessionﳋand notﳌwill be takenﳍfrom itﳎa compensationﳏand notﳐtheyﳑwill be helpedﳒ(48)

Guard yourselves against the Day on which no soul will be of help to another. No intercession1 will be accepted, no ransom taken, and no help will be given.
