2:49

ﱁAnd whenﱂWe saved youﱃfromﱄ(the) peopleﱅ(of) Firaunﱆ(who were) afflicting you (with)ﱇhorribleﱈtormentﱉslaughteringﱊyour sonsﱋand letting liveﱌﱍyour womenﱎAnd inﱏthatﱐ(was) a trialﱑfromﱒyour Lordﱓgreatﱔ(49)

˹Remember˺ how We delivered you from the people of Pharaoh, who afflicted you with dreadful torment, slaughtering your sons and keeping your women. That was a severe test from your Lord.

2:50

ﱕAnd whenﱖWe partedﱗfor youﱘthe seaﱙthen We saved youﱚand We drownedﱛ(the) peopleﱜ(of) Firaunﱝwhile youﱞ(were) lookingﱟ(50)

And ˹remember˺ when We parted the sea, rescued you, and drowned Pharaoh’s people before your very eyes.

2:51

ﱠAnd whenﱡWe appointedﱢ(for) MusaﱣfortyﱤnightsﱥThenﱦyou tookﱧthe calfﱨfromﱩafter himﱪand youﱫ(were) wrongdoersﱬ(51)

And ˹remember˺ when We appointed forty nights for Moses, then you worshipped the calf in his absence, acting wrongfully.

2:52

ﱭThenﱮWe forgaveﱯyouﱰfromﱱafterﱲthatﱳso that you mayﱴ(be) gratefulﱵ(52)

Even then We ˹still˺ forgave you so perhaps you would be grateful.

2:53

ﱶAnd whenﱷWe gaveﱸMusaﱹthe Bookﱺand the Criterionﱻperhaps youﱼ(would be) guidedﱽ(53)

And ˹remember˺ when We gave Moses the Scripture—the decisive authority‎—‎that perhaps you would be ˹rightly˺ guided.

2:54

ﱾAnd whenﱿsaidﲀMusaﲁto his peopleﲂO my peopleﲃIndeed, youﲄ[you] have wrongedﲅyourselvesﲆby your takingﲇthe calfﲈSo turn in repentanceﲉtoﲊyour Creatorﲋand killﲌyourselvesﲍThatﲎ(is) betterﲏfor youﲐwithﲑyour CreatorﲒThen He turnedﲓﲔtowards youﲕIndeed HeﲖHeﲗ(is) the-returningﲘthe Most Mercifulﲙ(54)

And ˹remember˺ when Moses said to his people, “O my people! Surely you have wronged yourselves by worshipping the calf, so turn in repentance to your Creator and execute ˹the calf-worshippers among˺ yourselves. That is best for you in the sight of your Creator.” Then He accepted your repentance. Surely He is the Accepter of Repentance, Most Merciful.

2:55

ﲚAnd whenﲛyou saidﲜO MusaﲝNeverﲞ(will) we believeﲟin youﲠuntilﲡwe seeﲢAllahﲣmanifestlyﲤSo seized youﲥthe thunderboltﲦwhile youﲧ(were) lookingﲨ(55)

And ˹remember˺ when you said, “O Moses! We will never believe you until we see Allah with our own eyes,” so a thunderbolt struck you while you were looking on.

2:56

ﲩThenﲪWe revived youﲫfromﲬafterﲭyour deathﲮso that you mayﲯ(be) gratefulﲰ(56)

Then We brought you back to life after your death, so that perhaps you would be grateful.

2:57

ﲱAnd We shadedﲲ[over] youﲳ(with) [the] cloudsﲴand We sent downﲵto youﲶ[the] mannaﲷﲸand [the] quailsﲹEatﲺfromﲻ(the) good thingsﲼthatﲽﲾWe have provided youﲿAnd notﳀthey wronged Usﳁbutﳂthey wereﳃ(to) themselvesﳄdoing wrongﳅ(57)

And ˹remember when˺ We shaded you with clouds and sent down to you manna and quails,1 ˹saying˺, “Eat from the good things We have provided for you.” The evildoers ˹certainly˺ did not wrong Us, but wronged themselves.
