4:34

ﱁ[The] menﱂ(are) protectorsﱃofﱄthe womenﱅbecauseﱆ(has) bestowedﱇAllahﱈsome of themﱉoverﱊothersﱋand becauseﱌthey spendﱍfromﱎﱏtheir wealthﱐSo the righteous womenﱑ(are) obedientﱒguardingﱓin the unseenﱔthat whichﱕ(orders) them to guardﱖﱗ(by) AllahﱘAnd those (from) whomﱙyou fearﱚtheir ill-conductﱛthen advise themﱜand forsake themﱝinﱞthe bedﱟﱠand [finally] strike themﱡThen ifﱢthey obey youﱣthen (do) notﱤseekﱥagainst themﱦﱧa wayﱨIndeedﱩAllahﱪisﱫMost HighﱬMost Greatﱭ(34)

Men are the caretakers of women, as men have been provisioned by Allah over women and tasked with supporting them financially. And righteous women are devoutly obedient and, when alone, protective of what Allah has entrusted them with.1 And if you sense ill-conduct from your women, advise them ˹first˺, ˹if they persist,˺ do not share their beds, ˹but if they still persist,˺ then discipline them ˹gently˺.2 But if they change their ways, do not be unjust to them. Surely Allah is Most High, All-Great.

4:35

ﱮAnd ifﱯyou fearﱰa dissensionﱱbetween (the) two of themﱲthen sendﱳan arbitratorﱴfromﱵhis familyﱶand an arbitratorﱷfromﱸher familyﱹIfﱺthey both wishﱻreconciliationﱼwill cause reconciliationﱽAllahﱾﱿbetween both of themﲀIndeedﲁAllahﲂisﲃAll-KnowerﲄAll-Awareﲅ(35)

If you anticipate a split between them, appoint a mediator from his family and another from hers. If they desire reconciliation, Allah will restore harmony between them. Surely Allah is All-Knowing, All-Aware.

4:36

ﲆ ﲇAnd worshipﲈAllahﲉAnd (do) notﲊassociateﲋwith Himﲌﲍanythingﲎand to the parentsﲏ(do) goodﲐand withﲑthe relativesﲒand the orphansﲓand the needyﲔand the neighborﲕ(who is)ﲖnearﲗand the neighborﲘ(who is) farther awayﲙand the companionﲚby your sideﲛand theﲜtravelerﲝand whatﲞpossess[ed]ﲟﲠyour right handsﲡIndeedﲢAllahﲣ(does) notﲤloveﲥ(the one) whoﲦisﲧ[a] proudﲨ(and) [a] boastfulﲩ(36)

Worship Allah ˹alone˺ and associate none with Him. And be kind to parents, relatives, orphans, the poor, near and distant neighbours, close friends, ˹needy˺ travellers, and those ˹bondspeople˺ in your possession. Surely Allah does not like whoever is arrogant, boastful—

4:37

ﲪThose whoﲫare stingyﲬand orderﲭthe peopleﲮ[of] stinginessﲯand hideﲰwhatﲱ(has) given themﲲAllahﲳofﲴﲵHis Bounty ﲶand We (have) preparedﲷfor the disbelieversﲸa punishmentﲹhumiliatingﲺ(37)

those who are stingy, promote stinginess among people, and withhold Allah’s bounties. We have prepared for the disbelievers a humiliating punishment.
