6:74
ﱁ ﱂAnd whenﱃsaidﱄIbrahimﱅto his fatherﱆAzarﱇDo you takeﱈidolsﱉ(as) godsﱊIndeed, Iﱋ[I] see youﱌand your peopleﱍinﱎerrorﱏmanifestﱐ(74)
And ˹remember˺ when Abraham said to his father, Ȃzar, “Do you take idols as gods? It is clear to me that you and your people are entirely misguided.”
6:75
ﱑAnd thusﱒWe show(ed)ﱓIbrahimﱔthe kingdomﱕ(of) the heavensﱖand the earthﱗso that he would beﱘamongﱙthe ones who are certainﱚ(75)
We also showed Abraham the wonders of the heavens and the earth, so he would be sure in faith.
6:76
ﱛSo whenﱜcoveredﱝover himﱞthe nightﱟhe sawﱠﱡa starﱢHe saidﱣThisﱤﱥ(is) my LordﱦBut whenﱧit setﱨhe saidﱩNotﱪ(do) I likeﱫthe ones that setﱬ(76)
When the night grew dark upon him, he saw a star and said, “This is my Lord!” But when it set, he said, “I do not love things that set.”
6:77
ﱭWhenﱮhe sawﱯthe moonﱰrisingﱱhe saidﱲThisﱳﱴ(is) my LordﱵBut whenﱶit setﱷhe saidﱸIfﱹ(does) notﱺguide meﱻmy LordﱼI will surely beﱽamongﱾthe peopleﱿwho went astrayﲀ(77)
Then when he saw the moon rising, he said, “This one is my Lord!” But when it disappeared, he said, “If my Lord does not guide me, I will certainly be one of the misguided people.”
6:78
ﲁWhenﲂhe sawﲃthe sunﲄrisingﲅhe saidﲆThis (is)ﲇmy Lordﲈthis (is)ﲉﲊgreaterﲋBut whenﲌit setﲍhe saidﲎO my peopleﲏIndeed, I amﲐfreeﲑof whatﲒyou associate (with Allah)ﲓ(78)
Then when he saw the sun shining, he said, “This must be my Lord—it is the greatest!” But again when it set, he declared, “O my people! I totally reject whatever you associate ˹with Allah in worship˺.
6:79
ﲔIndeed, Iﲕ[I] have turnedﲖmy faceﲗto the One Whoﲘcreatedﲙthe heavensﲚand the earthﲛﲜ(as) a true monotheistﲝand notﲞI (am)ﲟofﲠthe polytheistsﲡ(79)
I have turned my face towards the One Who has originated the heavens and the earth—being upright—and I am not one of the polytheists.”
6:80
ﲢAnd argued with himﲣﲤhis peopleﲥHe saidﲦDo you argue with meﲧconcerningﲨAllahﲩwhile certainlyﲪﲫHe has guided meﲬAnd notﲭ(do) I fearﲮwhatﲯyou associateﲰwith Himﲱunlessﲲ[that]ﲳwillsﲴmy LordﲵﲶanythingﲷEncompassesﲸmy Lordﲹeveryﲺthingﲻﲼ(in) knowledgeﲽThen will notﲾyou take heedﲿ(80)
And his people argued with him. He responded, “Are you arguing with me about Allah, while He has guided me? I am not afraid of whatever ˹idols˺ you associate with Him—˹none can harm me,˺ unless my Lord so wills. My Lord encompasses everything in ˹His˺ knowledge. Will you not be mindful?
6:81
ﳀAnd howﳁcould I fearﳂwhatﳃyou associate (with Allah)ﳄwhile notﳅyou fearﳆthat youﳇhave associatedﳈwith Allahﳉwhatﳊnotﳋdid He send downﳌfor itﳍto youﳎﳏany authorityﳐSo whichﳑ(of) the two partiesﳒhas more rightﳓﳔto securityﳕifﳖyouﳗknowﳘ(81)
And how should I fear your associate-gods, while you have no fear in associating ˹others˺ with Allah—a practice He has never authorized? Which side has more right to security? ˹Tell me˺ if you really know!”
