2:94

ﱁSayﱂIf ﱃisﱄfor youﱅthe homeﱆ(of) the HereafterﱇwithﱈAllahﱉexclusivelyﱊfromﱋexcludingﱌthe mankindﱍthen wishﱎ(for) [the] deathﱏifﱐyou areﱑtruthfulﱒ(94)

Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “If the ˹eternal˺ Home of the Hereafter with Allah is exclusively for you ˹Israelites˺ out of all humanity, then wish for death if what you say is true!”

2:95

ﱓAnd never (will)ﱔthey wish for itﱕeverﱖbecauseﱗ(of what) sent aheadﱘﱙtheir handsﱚAnd Allahﱛ(is) All-Knowerﱜof the wrongdoersﱝ(95)

But they will never wish for that because of what their hands have done.1 And Allah has ˹perfect˺ knowledge of the wrongdoers.

2:96

ﱞAnd surely you will find themﱟ(the) most greedyﱠ(of) [the] mankindﱡforﱢlifeﱣand (greedier) thanﱤthose whoﱥﱦassociate[d] partners (with Allah)ﱧLovesﱨ(each) one of themﱩifﱪhe could be granted a lifeﱫ(of) a thousandﱬyear(s)ﱭBut notﱮitﱯ(will) remove himﱰfromﱱthe punishmentﱲthatﱳﱴhe should be granted lifeﱵAnd Allahﱶ(is) All-Seerﱷof whatﱸthey doﱹ(96)

You will surely find them clinging to life more eagerly than any other people, even more than polytheists. Each one of them wishes to live a thousand years. But even if they were to live that long, it would not save them from the punishment. And Allah is All-Seeing of what they do.

2:97

ﱺSayﱻWhoeverﱼisﱽan enemyﱾto Jibreel ﱿthen indeed heﲀbrought it downﲁonﲂyour heartﲃby (the) permissionﲄ(of) Allahﲅconfirmingﲆwhatﲇ(was)ﲈbefore itﲉand a guidanceﲊand glad tiding(s)ﲋfor the believersﲌ(97)

Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “Whoever is an enemy of Gabriel should know that he revealed this ˹Quran˺ to your heart by Allah’s Will, confirming what came before it—a guide and good news for the believers.”

2:98

ﲍWhoeverﲎisﲏan enemyﲐ(to) Allahﲑand His Angelsﲒand His Messengersﲓand Jibreelﲔand Meekaelﲕthen indeedﲖAllahﲗ(is) an enemyﲘto the disbelieversﲙ(98)

Whoever is an enemy of Allah, His angels, His messengers, Gabriel, and Michael, then ˹let them know that˺ Allah is certainly the enemy of the disbelievers.

2:99

ﲚAnd indeedﲛWe revealedﲜto youﲝVersesﲞﲟclearﲠand notﲡdisbelievesﲢin themﲣexceptﲤthe defiantly disobedientﲥ(99)

Indeed, We have sent down to you ˹O Prophet˺ clear revelations. ˹But˺ none will deny them except the rebellious.

2:100

ﲦAnd is (it not that) wheneverﲧthey tookﲨa covenantﲩthrew it awayﲪa partyﲫﲬof themﲭNayﲮmost of themﲯ(do) notﲰbelieveﲱ(100)

Why is it that every time they make a covenant, a group of them casts it aside? In fact, most of them do not believe.

2:101

ﲲAnd whenﲳcame to themﲴa Messengerﲵ(of)ﲶfromﲷAllahﲸconfirmingﲹwhatﲺ(was) with themﲻthrew awayﲼa partyﲽofﲾthose whoﲿwere givenﳀthe Bookﳁ(the) Bookﳂ(of) Allahﳃbehindﳄtheir backsﳅas if theyﳆ(do) notﳇknowﳈ(101)

Now, when a messenger from Allah has come to them—confirming their own Scriptures—some of the People of the Book cast the Book of Allah behind their backs as if they did not know.
