9:62

ﱁThey swearﱂby Allahﱃto youﱄto please youﱅAnd Allahﱆand His Messengerﱇ(have) more rightﱈthatﱉthey should please Himﱊifﱋthey areﱌbelieversﱍ(62)

They swear by Allah to you ˹believers˺ in order to please you, while it is the pleasure of Allah and His Messenger they should seek, if they are ˹true˺ believers.

9:63

ﱎDo notﱏthey knowﱐthat heﱑwhoﱒopposesﱓAllahﱔand His Messengerﱕ[then] thatﱖfor himﱗ(is the) Fireﱘ(of) Hellﱙ(will) abide foreverﱚﱛin itﱜThatﱝ(is) the disgraceﱞthe greatﱟ(63)

Do they not know that whoever opposes Allah and His Messenger will be in the Fire of Hell forever? That is the ultimate disgrace.

9:64

ﱠFearﱡthe hypocritesﱢlestﱣbe revealedﱤabout themﱥa Surahﱦinforming themﱧof whatﱨ(is) inﱩﱪtheir heartsﱫSayﱬMockﱭindeedﱮAllahﱯ(will) bring forthﱰwhatﱱyou fearﱲ(64)

The hypocrites fear that a sûrah should be revealed about them, exposing what is in their hearts. Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “Keep mocking! Allah will definitely bring to light what you fear.”

9:65

ﱳAnd ifﱴyou ask themﱵsurely they will sayﱶOnlyﱷwe wereﱸconversingﱹﱺand playingﱻSayﱼIs it Allahﱽand His Versesﱾand His Messengerﱿ(that) you wereﲀmockingﲁ(65)

If you question them, they will certainly say, “We were only talking idly and joking around.” Say, “Was it Allah, His revelations, and His Messenger that you ridiculed?”

9:66

ﲂ(Do) notﲃmake excuseﲄverilyﲅyou have disbelievedﲆafterﲇﲈyour beliefﲉIfﲊWe pardonﲋ[on]ﲌa partyﲍof youﲎWe will punishﲏa partyﲐbecause theyﲑwereﲒcriminalsﲓ(66)

Make no excuses! You have lost faith after your belief. If We pardon a group of you,1 We will punish others for their wickedness.

9:67

ﲔThe hypocrite menﲕand the hypocrite womenﲖsome of themﲗ(are) ofﲘﲙothersﲚThey enjoinﲛthe wrongﲜand forbidﲝwhatﲞ(is) the rightﲟand they closeﲠﲡtheir handsﲢThey forgetﲣAllahﲤﲥso He has forgotten themﲦIndeedﲧthe hypocritesﲨthey (are)ﲩthe defiantly disobedientﲪ(67)

The hypocrites, both men and women, are all alike: they encourage what is evil, forbid what is good, and withhold ˹what is in˺ their hands. They neglected Allah, so He neglected them. Surely the hypocrites are the rebellious.

9:68

ﲫAllah has promisedﲬAllah has promisedﲭthe hypocrite menﲮand the hypocrite womenﲯand the disbelieversﲰFireﲱ(of) Hellﲲthey (will) abide foreverﲳﲴin itﲵIt (is)ﲶﲷsufficient for themﲸAnd Allah has cursed themﲹﲺAnd Allah has cursed themﲻand for themﲼ(is) a punishmentﲽenduringﲾ(68)

Allah has promised the hypocrites, both men and women, and the disbelievers an everlasting stay in the Fire of Hell—it is sufficient for them. Allah has condemned them, and they will suffer a never-ending punishment.
