14:6

ﱁAnd whenﱂsaidﱃMusaﱄto his peopleﱅRememberﱆ(the) Favor of Allahﱇ(the) Favor of Allahﱈupon youﱉwhenﱊHe saved youﱋfromﱌ(the) peopleﱍ(of) Firaunﱎthey were afflicting youﱏ(with) evilﱐtormentﱑand were slaughteringﱒyour sonsﱓand letting liveﱔﱕyour womenﱖAnd inﱗthatﱘ(was) a trialﱙfromﱚyour Lordﱛgreatﱜ(6)

˹Consider˺ when Moses said to his people, “Remember Allah’s favour upon you when He rescued you from the people of Pharaoh, who afflicted you with dreadful torment—slaughtering your sons and keeping your women. That was a severe test from your Lord.

14:7

ﱝAnd whenﱞproclaimedﱟyour LordﱠIfﱡyou are thankfulﱢﱣsurely I will increase youﱤbut ifﱥyou are ungratefulﱦindeedﱧMy punishmentﱨ(is) surely severeﱩ(7)

And ˹remember˺ when your Lord proclaimed, ‘If you are grateful, I will certainly give you more. But if you are ungrateful, surely My punishment is severe.’”

14:8

ﱪAnd saidﱫMusaﱬIfﱭyou disbelieveﱮyouﱯand whoeverﱰ(is) inﱱthe earthﱲallﱳthen indeedﱴAllahﱵcertainly (is) Free of needﱶPraiseworthyﱷ(8)

Moses added, “If you along with everyone on earth were to be ungrateful, then ˹know that˺ Allah is indeed Self-Sufficient, Praiseworthy.”

14:9

ﱸHas notﱹcome to youﱺ(the) newsﱻ(of) those whoﱼ(were) before youﱽ(were) before youﱾthe peopleﱿof Nuhﲀand Aadﲁand Thamudﲂand those whoﲃ(were) after themﲄ(were) after themﲅNoneﲆknows themﲇexceptﲈﲉAllahﲊCame to themﲋtheir Messengersﲌwith clear proofsﲍbut they returnedﲎtheir handsﲏinﲐtheir mouthsﲑand they saidﲒIndeed weﲓ[we] disbelieveﲔin whatﲕyou have been sentﲖwith [it]ﲗand indeed, weﲘ(are) surely inﲙdoubtﲚabout whatﲛyou invite usﲜto itﲝsuspiciousﲞ(9)

Have you not ˹already˺ received the stories of those who were before you: the people of Noah, ’Âd, Thamûd, and those after them? Only Allah knows how many they were. Their messengers came to them with clear proofs, but they put their hands over their mouths1 and said, “We totally reject what you have been sent with, and we are certainly in alarming doubt about what you are inviting us to.”

14:10

ﲟ ﲠSaidﲡtheir MessengersﲢCan (there) be aboutﲣAllahﲤany doubtﲥ(the) Creatorﲦ(of) the heavensﲧﲨand the earthﲩHe invites youﲪso that He may forgiveﲫfor youﲬ[of]ﲭyour sinsﲮand give you respiteﲯforﲰa termﲱﲲappointedﲳThey saidﲴNotﲵyouﲶ(are) butﲷa humanﲸlike usﲹyou wishﲺtoﲻhinder usﲼfrom whatﲽused toﲾworshipﲿour forefathersﳀSo bring usﳁan authorityﳂclearﳃ(10)

Their messengers asked ˹them˺, “Is there any doubt about Allah, the Originator of the heavens and the earth? He is inviting you in order to forgive your sins, and delay your end until your appointed term.”1 They argued, “You are no more than humans like us! You ˹only˺ wish to turn us away from what our forefathers worshipped. So bring us some compelling proof.”
